I teach and guide Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga

Lakshmi created this style of yoga back in the early 80’s for a friend of hers that was struggling to get down on her mat due to symptoms of arthritis.

The practice has a firm base in Hatha Yoga tradition but also draws from other Eastern and some Western practices, combining these together to help you “Get fit where you sit!”

​This method uniquely guides you through postures that suit your level of flexibility. Teaching and guiding therapeutic breathing techniques and a guided meditation.

✨ Hatha Yoga & Yoga Nidra … but not as you know it… ✨

I’ve been running this weekly class for 6 years now, and while I still call it Hatha Yoga & Yoga Nidra, the truth is… it’s evolved.

Shaped by years of experience and deep therapeutic training, this practice has grown into something much more intuitive, adaptable, and inclusive. We have a beautiful range of bodies, ages, and abilities in the room, and the practice reflects that.

Expect a blend of grounding movement, breath, rest, and moments of spontaneous change, led not by strict plans, but by felt sense. Sometimes we throw the plan out the window entirely and follow what’s most needed in the moment.

Whether you’re experienced or brand new, bendy or not-so-bendy, curious or cautious, you’re welcome here.
