PHARMACY COUNTER ASSISTANT (16 to 26 hours)
FOR WEEKEND & RELIEF COVER FOR COLLEAGUES ON HOLIDAYS
Required Weekly Shift Pattern
Friday: 9am to 1pm (4 hours)
Saturday: 8:30am to 1:00pm (4.5 hours)
Sunday: 9am to 4:30pm (7.5 hours)
Monday: 9am to 1pm OR 2pm to 6pm (4 hours)
Plus extra cover when required of up to 6 or hours more in the week.
Salary: £11.00 to £12.00 per hour depending on experience
Plus benefits equivalent to all regulatory UK entitlements after the probation period
Job Description:
The role requires Saturday and Sunday work and to cover colleagues when they are on holidays or in an emergency. The role also requires prolonged standing and some lifting to move stocks and retrieve prescription bags at high or low levels.
Training will be provided although retail experience in pharmacy or elsewhere will be an advantage. You must be able to operate a computer and have managed to work with smart devices and/or till systems.
General Duties Notwithstanding Contract Details When Hired:
1. Handing out prescriptions and referring clinical concerns to trained colleagues and the pharmacist. Data protection rules must be adhered at all times.
2. Replenishing the retail stock on shelves.
3. Ordering stock, consulting with trained colleagues on stock purchases, and booking in deliveries.
4. Managing price labels including shelf edge information and promotions.
5. Facilitating sales of retail and OTC products under supervision from trained colleagues.
6. Handling cash and card transactions including for NHS prescription charge with the public.
7. End of day cashing up and reporting using computer forms.
8. Talking to customers and allowing for some friendly crowd management when busy.
9. Hygiene and waste management in the premises including basic cleaning at end or beginning of day.
10. Undertaking training on health and safety, customers services, and counter assistant information including medicines handling and over the counter sales,
11. Answering the telephone from customers and other health or social care professionals ensuring to refer to trained colleagues issues outside your level of competency.
12. Keeping to Wellbeing Pharmacy standard operating procedures and rules set by the NHS and other UK government regulations.
