All the fun of the fair!

We recently held a circus-themed Fun Day at the home, with residents and staff all joining in with the craziness. With live music, food and drink aplenty, it was a lovely day that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. There were some great Tombola prizes and it was lovely to see family and friends come together and enjoying themselves.

Get ready for Fun!

The circus is coming to town - well, to Normanton Lodge - on the 5th of September. It promises to be a great afternoon, with lots of stalls, games, food, and drink for everyone. A great opportunity to let your hair down on a Frdiay afternoon and ease into the weekend! Everyone is welcome and we hope to see lots of you there.

A lovely trip out...

A group of our wonderful residents recently took a trip out to enjoy the delights offered by one of our local pubs - The Countryman. It was a trip enjoyed by all as the food and drink were lovely - as was the company. Everyone is now looking forward to a return visit.

A memorable day!

Residents and staff at Normanton Lodge had a great day celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day last week. The home was decorated with lots of bunting and flags. The staff all dressed up in different uniforms which went down a treat. There was entertainment in the form of razzle dazzle singing with lots of war songs - great for our residents to sing along to. We also had a fab buffet (thank you kitchen team) which everybody tucked in to.

All in all it was a great day, with lots of memories and stories of days past. We hope you enjoyed your VE Day celebrations too.

Pancake Day is here!….

Every year on the Tuesday before the start of lent we eat pancakes galore.

But why? Well because Shrove Tuesday is the day preceding Lent, traditionally it was a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar, before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

Now you may not want to fast for lent but that doesn’t stop you enjoying a pancake or two today. What will be your choice of topping? Here at Normanton we like fruits and cream. Yummy!

On The Tenth Day of Christmas…….

It’s our turn here at Normanton Lodge for the next instalment of My Care’s 12 Days of Christmas. We set up in the lounge area of the home and decided to take the approach of a choir which turned out wonderfully!

We have loved looking at everyone else’s entries and couldn’t wait to get involved ourselves.
