Limes Medical Centre is based in Alfreton, with a branch site located at Blackwell providing general medical services to just under 11,000 patients.

Please note there are roadworks coming in and out of Alfreton which is causing big delays in getting to the surgery.

This information is about how the weight loss drug tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) will be prescribed to patients.

The local NHS is aiming for this drug to be available to those eligible later in the year but is paused whilst we set up local clinics for Derby and Derbyshire.

We are working across the local NHS to put in place community-based clinics to meet areas of greatest need.

This is being organised by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) which has the responsibility.

How can I access tirzepatide (Mounjaro®)

Please do not contact your GP if you think you are eligible as it will not be available in Derby and Derbyshire until later in the year.

The ICB will publish more information on this page once a service has been set up explaining who can access it and how this can happen.

Good morning

As the Easter bank holidays approach, please be advised that the Medicine Order Line (MOL) will be closed on Good Friday (18th April) and Easter Monday (21st April). Our regular opening hours, from 8am to 4pm, will be maintained on all other working days.

Due to the increased demand, we expect the MOL to experience higher than usual call volume during this time.

For patients with internet access, we highly recommend utilising one of the online prescription ordering options, including:

• NHS app
• MOL online ordering form via www.derbyshiremol.nhs.uk
• Online ordering via the GP clinical system

The MOL will also be closed on the following May bank holidays - Monday 5th May and Monday 26th May.

Due to unforseen circumstances our Blackwell site will close early today from 4pm. Patients will still be able to attend the main Limes Medical Centre or call the surgery.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvinience this may cause. The Blackwell site will be open as normal from Monday at 8am.
