BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Liz has returned to the office… yes, willingly 😂

After back to back days of Training /Tutoring / Assessing and IQA ..and Wayne, Layla & Sam to hold the fort, we’ve finally managed to get her sat back at a desk. Early reports suggest she still remembers how to answer emails… but it may take time 😜

Today involves meetings, catch-ups with the team and outside organisations, plus the shocking discovery that the office actually still exists.

Thanks for everyone’s patience while Liz was out of the Office 📚📚💻🏊‍♀️😂
Normal service may now resume… maybe…

🌊 International Learn to Swim Week 🌊

Every child deserves the chance to feel confident, safe, and happy around water. This week is a reminder of just how important water safety education is — not only in the pool, but in everyday life.
Over the recent months , we have delivered countless dry lessons, school workshops, and water safety activities to children and young people, helping educate them on how to stay safe while also encouraging a positive love and respect for water. These sessions have reached schools, communities, and hundreds of children through engaging and life-saving education.
From understanding the dangers of open water to learning simple self-rescue and emergency awareness skills, every lesson plays a part in building confidence and saving lives.
We are passionate about continuing to promote:
💙 Respect for water
💙 Water confidence
💙 Safety awareness
💙 Drowning prevention education
Because the reality is simple — one drowning is one too many.
We are one voice and support all other Approved Training Centre’s , Leisure Centres , Teachers ,Private Pools and Community to work together 💦

By educating children early and making water safety accessible, together we can help create safer futures for everyone.

International Learn to Swim Week 🏊‍♂️ and Mental Health Awareness Week falling on the same dates 📅 can’t just be a coincidence 💙

Today, the STA are highlighting the importance of wellbeing, mindfulness and creating positive spaces for young people, in support of Mental Health Awareness Week led by the Mental Health Foundation 🫶

We haven’t posted our usual early doors 🚪 to allow time and space so people are not overwhelmed.

This is a key message within Mental Health and Well Being

As parents, teachers, lifeguards and tutors, we see first-hand the difference swimming can make 🏊‍♀️
For some, the pool is a place to build confidence 🌟
For others, it’s a safe space to reset, regulate emotions and take a break from everyday pressures 🧠💭

Swimming is so much more than a life skill — it can also support positive mental health, wellbeing and connection 💙

We have also become a Mental Health Friendly Club working with Active Partners and Derbyshire - as this so important
