As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

At the family's request;

Mr John Allsop of Tibshelf has sadly passed away on 5th October 2025.

A funeral service will be held on Friday 31st October 2025, 12pm at Amber Valley Crematorium.

Any donations in lieu of family flowers will be passed to The Air Ambulance.

The family would like to thank all for the support they have received at this time.

The family of Mary Morris have asked us to share the details of her funeral arrangements.

Mrs Mary Morris of Derby Road, Swanwick has passed away peacefully on the 14th July 2025 aged 87 years.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday 7th August, 3pm at Amber Valley Crematorium.

We have been asked to share the funeral details for the late James ‘Jay’ Arthur Bramwell.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday 24th July, 10:15 am at Mansfield Crematorium.

All are welcome to attend and we kindly ask that if possible, please wear yellow and blue as a tribute to Jay and his life long passion, The Stags (Mansfield Town Football Club).

We would also ask for you to join the family at The Stags ground, 1861 Suite for light refreshments following the service to celebrate Jay’s life.

You will have the opportunity to leave a donation, should you wish, in memory of Jay, at the end of the service and all monies raised will benefit the Air Ambulance.

We have been asked to share the funeral details for the late, Victoria Emma Gray.

The funeral service for will take place on Thursday 10th July,
11 am at Amber Valley Memorial Park & Crematorium, Derby Road, Swanwick, Alfreton, DE55 1BH.

All are welcome to attend and we kindly ask that if possible, please dispense with the traditional black worn at a funeral, and opt for something brighter and more befitting a celebration of Victoria’s life.

We would also ask for you to join at Santos Higham Farm Hotel & Restaurant, Main Road, Higham, Alfreton, DE55 6EH following the service.

The family have asked that it's Family flowers only and if you would like to leave a donation in Victoria's memory, these will be shared between South Wingfield Primary School & Murray Park Community School, to continue to help children of these communities, a cause close to Victoria's heart.
