Back to school photos may be cute and a rite of passage, but they also pose real risks to children:

* Uniforms with school badges make it easy for people to find your child
* Even without badges, some uniforms are very distinctive - e.g tie patterns
* Attempts to cover identifiable features with stickers/scribbles can be easily removed.
* Unless we have totally locked down profiles with minimal 'real life friends' and family members we have no idea who is looking at these photos.
* Even if the above applies, we cannot guarantee that our friends and family won't download the photos and share elsewhere. I've seen several groups, with thousands of members, where proud grandparents have shared the images along with text such as "I'm not allowed to share, but I just wanted you to see my beautiful grandchild".
* Millions (sadly not an exageration) of paedophiles visit websites on the darkweb where photos of children are shared, school uniforms are a common fe**sh. The images can be easily manipulated, using AI, into pornographic pictures. Your child's manipulated back to school photo may become viral, without you even knowing. Please watch the video in my stories today for more on this.

In addition to the above, most parents do not ask their children for their consent to share these images. While you may not be concerned about this now, there has been precedent set in legal cases where children have successfully sued their parents for breaching their privacy by sharing their images online without consent.

If you do want to share a photo, remember the three Cs: Consent, Cover, Closed:

* Ask your child for their Consent
* Cover any badges and then take a screenshot, share the screenshot picture not the original one with the sticker/scribble
* Only share in a Closed account, where you know everybody personally.

For more on the morals, legalities and dangers of sharing your child’s images on line see ‘Because I Said So! Why society is childist and how breaking the cycle of discrimination towards children can change the world’ :

We continue to offer 'rapid testing' as part of the GBS3 trial...

❓ What is Group B Strep and the GBS3 Trial?

🦠 Group B Streptococcus is also known as GBS, Strep B or group B Strep. It is a common bacteria that normally causes no harm. In the UK, 1 in 4 pregnant women carry group B Strep in their va**na and re**um. You’re unlikely to know you carry it.

🦠 If you carry group B Strep, your baby may be exposed to it around labour and birth. While most babies won’t be affected, there is a very small chance of your baby becoming seriously ill or even dying. In extremely rare cases group B Strep infection can cause miscarriage, early labour or stillbirth.

🧪 The GBS3 trial is looking at whether testing pregnant women for Group B Streptococcus reduces the risk of infection in newborn babies compared to the current strategy in place in the UK. The current strategy in the UK is to offer antibiotics during labour to women who are considered at raised risk of their baby developing a group B Strep infection.

👶 When you come in to have your baby, your Midwife will offer you the opportunity to take part in the trial. This involves having swabs taken (va**na and re**um) which are tested for group B strep. If the test is positive, you will be offered antibiotics during labour as per current guidelines.

There is more information on the trial here 👇

Metaphor is how we receive higher knowing. It’s how the realm of higher wisdom (spirit, the divine, higher consciousness) speaks to us.

“Kissing your baby changes your breast milk. Did you know that the undeniable urge to cover your baby in kisses serves a biological purpose? When a mother kisses her baby, she samples the pathogens on baby’s face, which then travel to mom’s lymphatic system. Mom’s body then creates antibodies to fight those pathogens, which baby receives through breast milk. What?! Amazing, right?” -Gentle Seed Doulas - Professional Birth & Postpartum Services

"In reality, bodies, babies and pregnancy lengths vary.

In reality, we exhibit individual variation, and there is actually a wide span of time in which babies can be born and be healthy.

In other words, normal is a range and not just one fixed point.

One size hardly ever fits all."

That's a quote from my book, In Your Own Time: how western medicine controls the start of labour and why this needs to stop.

It's also the quote that opens my induction information hub on www.sarawickham.com

We have links to loads of recent resources and blog posts that Sara has written, as well as links to original research and evidence and, of course, more info about her books.

We hope you find it useful.
