📅 We’ll Be Closed – Monday, 8th September 📅

Just a gentle reminder that our practice will be closed on Monday, 8th September for a public holiday.

We know how important it is to have the care and medication you need — so if you have any upcoming needs (like repeat prescriptions or appointments), we encourage you to get in touch early so we can help you in good time. 💊📞

Public holidays for GP practices are set by the Health Board, and this day allows our team to rest and recharge so we can continue providing the best care possible. 💙

If you need medical advice while we’re closed, you can contact NHS 24 on 111, and for emergencies, please call 999

📢 Patient Access – Temporary Issue

There is currently a problem with Patient Access (the online system for ordering prescriptions)

💻. You might see a message saying:
“Service disabled – sorry, your GP practice doesn’t offer this service.”

⚠️ This is a temporary issue affecting all practices nationwide – it’s on the Patient Access side and not something we can resolve at the practice.

📝 In the meantime, you can order your prescriptions using any of the following methods:
📧 Email: fv.ochilmpprescriptions@nhs.scot
🏥 In person at the Practice
🏪 Through your local community pharmacy
📮 By post
✅ If you placed an order over the weekend and it appeared to go through, don’t worry – we’ve received it and it will be processed as normal. No need to contact us to check.

🙏 Thanks for your patience and understanding – we’ll keep you updated as soon as the system is back up and running! 👍

🚨 Mounjaro (tirzepatide) – Patient Update 🚨

Mounjaro has recently been approved in Scotland for some people with type 2 diabetes and weight management needs.

👉 At the moment, GP practices cannot prescribe or assess patients for Mounjaro. This is because it requires specialist checks, monitoring, and follow-up that are only available through hospital services.

✅ If you are under the care of a hospital specialist, please speak with them if you think Mounjaro may be suitable for you. Please note, this is not something your GP can prescribe – it must be managed through hospital care.

ℹ️ For advice and support with weight management, please visit:

Thank you for your understanding.

NHS Forth Valley provides and manages a wide range of health services including hospitals and General Practice with the Forth Valley area of Central Scotland.

Thanks for your patience!

Your Contraception Choices After Birth

Contraception might be the last thing on your mind — but evidence shows that there is improved maternal and child health if pregnancies are at least one year apart.

Not all methods are suitable immediately after birth, so it’s important to explore your options early. Your Midwife will discuss this with you during your antenatal appointments.
