As part of our Random Acts of Kindness Day celebrations, resident Edna had a wonderful time helping to hand out some of the gifts left over from our scavenger hunt this afternoon 💛

She said it brought her so much joy and truly made her day - especially as she had the chance to meet some new faces along the way 🥰

It was a lovely moment of connection, kindness and smiles throughout the home.

Our home has been filled with smiles, thoughtful gestures and lovely moments shared between residents and colleagues.

It’s amazing how even the smallest act of kindness can brighten someone’s day - and the warmth around the home has been truly heart‑lifting 💛

🥞 Pancake Day - Shrove Tuesday at Parklands! 🥞

We had a fantastic time celebrating Shrove Tuesday with plenty of pancake‑flipping fun at Parklands!

Residents enjoyed making (and tasting!) their delicious pancakes, complete with all their favourite toppings.

There were lots of smiles, laughter and a lovely sense of togetherness as everyone took part in this tasty tradition 💛

💝 Valentine’s Disco - Part 2 at Parklands! 💝

Our Valentine’s Disco celebrations continued with even more smiles, music and dancing! The atmosphere was full of joy as everyone enjoyed the lovely moments shared throughout the afternoon.

A big thank you to our colleagues Jamie and Dorota, who popped in to share some dances and help create even more special moments with our residents. Their warmth and energy added to the fun and made the event feel extra special 💛

🎉 Celebrating Moira’s 90th Birthday at Parklands! 🎂🥂

We enjoyed a lovely social afternoon with drinks and nibbles to celebrate Moira’s 90th birthday - a truly special milestone! 🥳💛

The celebrations continued with a fantastic sing‑along with Alan via Dance‑Sing, filling the room with music and smiles 🎶✨

After that, we moved on to residents’ favourite requests from YouTube, creating a joyful and relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

A wonderful afternoon of laughter, music and togetherness - the perfect way to mark Moira’s special day 💖

🎶❤️ Valentine’s Disco with DJ Derek - Part 1 ❤️🎶

We had an amazing time celebrating Valentine’s Day at Parklands with our lively Valentine’s Disco, hosted by the brilliant DJ Derek! The room was filled with music, dancing and plenty of happy smiles 😄

A special mention goes to Frank, who confidently sang “She Wears My Ring” - his favourite song - to his fellow residents 🎤

It was a beautiful moment that everyone enjoyed and one that truly captured the spirit of the afternoon.

To celebrate National Pizza Day, our residents enjoyed creating their very own mini pizzas - complete with all their favourite toppings!

With the support of our wonderful colleague Fiona, everyone had great fun shaping their bases, choosing toppings and bringing their delicious creations to life.

There were lots of smiles, plenty of creativity and a lovely sense of achievement all round.

It’s amazing how a simple activity can bring so much joy, conversation and togetherness. A truly tasty afternoon at Parklands! 💛

🌟 Another Wonderful Day at Parklands! 🌟

It’s been a busy, joyful and activity‑packed day here at Parklands, filled with creativity, memories, music and plenty of smiles 💛

🧺 Anne & Loveness got creative with napkin folding as they prepared for meal service — a lovely moment of teamwork and skill‑sharing!

🏴 Moira enjoyed a beautiful reminiscence session all about Riddie, where she originated from. We even managed to find her old house online, which absolutely thrilled her — such a special moment 💙

🪩 Daytime disco fun!
Residents Margaret, Christine, Edna and Isobel enjoyed dancing and sampling drinks through the DanceSing programme, supported by colleagues Molly (SN) and Ellen (CA). The room was full of laughter, movement and fabulous energy!

🔤 A–Z of Boys’ Names with Fiona
Colleague Fiona led a fun‑filled activity exploring boys’ names from A to Z, with plenty of great suggestions from our residents.

We also had a visit from Mark (maintenance) — resident Gladys and Mark share a lovely tradition of giving 10 fist bumps every time they see each other!

🎵🌏 Armchair Travels & Elvis Tunes at Parklands! 🌏🎵

Today our Parklands community enjoyed a fantastic armchair travel adventure to Australia — no passports required! 🇦🇺✨

We explored the sights, sounds and stories of the Land Down Under, sparking lots of lovely conversations and memories.

And by special request from resident May, we followed it up with an Elvis singalong! 🎤💙
From “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to “Suspicious Minds”, the room was filled with music, smiles and plenty of toe‑tapping.

A wonderful mix of fun, learning and feel‑good nostalgia! 🌟😊
