Dr Amy Thomson BDS (Hons) RCPSG (Glasg)
Associate Dentist

Amy graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2020 and completed her VT year with us at Macdonald and Morson Dental Care. She has been part of the team ever since.

In 2022 she joined the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow after completing her MFDS Part 1 and Part 2 exams. She enjoys a wide range of dentistry with a particular interest in oral surgery and cosmetic treatments. Amy has recently completed both the Totally Composite and Invisalign certifications and now provides clear aligners and composite bonding for her patients.

Outside of work Amy enjoys a city break, hiking and spending time with friends and family.

Meet Nida Shah 👋

Nida Shah BDS (GDC 284477) is an Associate Dentist who qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2019 and has been part of the practice since graduating.

Nida’s areas of focus include family dental care and restorative dentistry, and she has recently completed further training in oral surgery. She is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive and welcoming environment.

She chose dentistry because of her caring nature and her enjoyment of working closely with people in a healthcare setting. One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is building trust with patients and seeing the positive impact dentistry can have on their confidence and overall wellbeing.

For nervous patients, Nida’s advice is to take things one step at a time and remember that you are always in control of your treatment.

Outside of work, Nida enjoys travelling, exploring new places, trying different foods, and spending time with friends and family.

Meet Stuart 👋
Associate Dentist at Macdonald & Morson Dental Care.

Stuart qualified at the University of Glasgow in 2017 and has been with the practice ever since. Eight years in and still going strong.

He focuses on general dentistry, Invisalign orthodontics, and sedation. The goal is simple. Quality dentistry, calmer appointments, and helping patients feel genuinely comfortable in the chair.

Why dentistry?
Stuart loves helping people feel confident in their smile and enjoys a career that never stands still. There is always something new to learn and improve.

Best part of the job?
Seeing the moment a patient relaxes. Pain eased, confidence boosted, and anxiety left at the door.

Top tip for nervous patients.
Bring a friend along if it helps. And if anxiety is high, sedation is a safe and supportive option. No judgement, just care that works for you.

Outside the clinic, Stuart is usually in his campervan somewhere in the north of Scotland, chasing cold water swims and fresh air.

Meet the Team. Dr Mark Sorbie (GDC 74602)
Senior Associate / Vocational Trainer

Mark graduated from Glasgow in 1998 and joined Macdonald & Morson in 2012. He focuses on family care, restorative dentistry, and supporting new graduates as they start their careers.

He loves dentistry because it’s rewarding and lets him build genuine relationships while improving patients’ oral health.

What he enjoys most. Helping nervous patients feel at ease and guiding young dentists as they grow in confidence.

His tip for anxious patients. We take things slowly and start with simple treatments so trust builds naturally.

Outside the practice you’ll usually find him on the golf course. Or trying to get there around family life.

Our team at Macdonald and Morson Dental Care have made staff donations to Clackmannanshire’s Love in a Box appeal. It is a local volunteer group that makes sure children and young people in the area do not go without gifts at Christmas.

The group works closely with education, social work, health services and local voluntary organisations to reach the families who need support most.

Love in a Box has been running since 2012 and continues to bring the community together to make a real difference for children across Clackmannanshire.

Sarah and Stephen were out on our care home visits last week, supporting residents during their regular appointments.

Stephen provides domiciliary care across the six local care homes we work with, and Sarah was there to assist throughout the visit.

It was a positive and productive day providing care within the community, ensuring residents continue to receive the support they need in a comfortable and familiar environment.

Meet Dr Stephen Bissett BDS MCGDent (UK)
Associate Dentist at Macdonald and Morson Dental Care

Stephen qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2013. He completed his VT year with us the following year, and he has been part of the practice ever since.

In 2016 he joined the College of General Dentists, and he attends their annual conference to stay up to date. Every week Stephen also provides care for care home residents and housebound patients. In 2019 he completed the Enhanced Practitioner course in Domiciliary Care.

He is currently completing an Oral Surgery course in conjunction with Forth Valley Royal Hospital to continue expanding his surgical skills.

His advice for nervous patients keeps things simple and honest.
“The best tip for anxious patients is to build a good relationship with your dentist, because once you feel comfortable you realise it is never as bad as you think it will be.”

Outside work, Stephen can usually be found at football matches following his team around Scotland. He also enjoys reading and learning about Scottish history.

Meet Dr Gordon Morson 🦷
GDC No. 74502

Graduating from the University of Glasgow in 1998, Gordon has been part of the Macdonald & Morson family for an incredible 27 years. He brings calm confidence, clinical experience and a genuinely caring touch to every patient he meets.

He chose dentistry because it perfectly blends two passions. Caring for people and running a business with purpose. Over the years, Gordon’s favourite part of the job has become clear. Building long-term relationships and helping patients feel at ease while improving their smiles.

When it comes to nervous patients, his advice is simple:

“There are always options to help with fears, and it’s often not as much work as you think. The first step is just having a conversation.”

Outside the practice, Gordon enjoys watching and playing sport, spending time with his kids and playing music 🎶
