Stop waiting to be happy.
Allow yourself to be happy now.
A daily gratitude practice can help this.

1000 days alcohol free today ππ»
So why did I give up alcohol when I didn't have a problem with drinking? For my health!
It turns out that the red face I used to get when drinking alcohol is a symptom of being highly sensitive/intolerant/allergic to alcohol. But I ignored that and continued for decades ππ
Then there were the hangovers, which the older I got the longer they lasted. And for the few months before I quit drinking I started feeling rough actually during the drinking, so my hangover wasn't even polite enough to wait until the next morning. Rude. π
Add to that the night sweats when perimenopause started (I only got said sweats when I'd had alcohol). Now you can mess with a lot in my life but don't be messing with my sleep! That for me was game over and I made the decision to stop drinking.
During that time I've been to parties, gigs, all day wedding, and several holidays. I thought maybe I'd miss it when I went to Italy and all that wine...but nope, still didn't want any.
Absolutely no regrets and not missing it. Thankfully I've never been a person who needed alcohol to enjoy myself. I have the odd alcohol-free beer but mostly just drink water when I'm out as I've not had fizzy drinks for those 1000 days either.
I'm not hating on anyone else for drinking. We're all different and on our own journeys.
I've not looked after my body well over the decades and, like most other people, have taken my health for granted.
I'm slowly making little changes to improve my health to support my body as I get older and work through my menopause journey as naturally as possibly.
I've learned a lot about alcohol since I gave it up (mention it on social media and the algorithms soon share with you lots of content you didn't ask for π). I didn't realise that drinking alcohol increases the risk of cancer (including breast cancer, bowel cancer, mouth and throat cancer). It damages our cells, changes our hormones. That is scary and no one tells us these things!
As always, I am an experiment of one, finding out what works for my body and what makes it feel bad. Do you tune into what your body is telling you?

Good evening, I hope you had a lovely weekend.
My diary is filling up for October. I've had a few more people booking in for my Half Day Retreat which is fab π I'm also taking the last week of October off to recharge my batteries. So best be quick if you want booked in.
The day when the light and the dark are the same in length.
I'm loving all the gorgeous colours as the leaves change and get ready to fall ππ
I used to hate autumn so much as it meant summer was over which made me depressed and sad. I love the sun and always felt miserable thinking of the cold dark months ahead. But now I embrace it.
I realised Autumn is a beautiful time. The earth has enjoyed the growth in spring and the beauty and warmth of summer. Then it takes a step back and releases everything that no longer serves it, preparing to rest for a time before beginning the regrowth process in Spring.
I think that is so powerful, inspirational and something we should all do π
Take this time to evaluate what's important in your life and what's holding you back.
Let go of people, behaviours, negative feelings - anything that no longer serves you.
Then take some time to just be and chill before we're back in spring and ready to grow again π

I love a quiet, simple life.
In my old job, part of the dread of going into work on a Monday morning was knowing so many people would ask 'what did you do at weekend'. When I replied that I'd just pottered around the house I'd often get a look of pity or whatever that I wasn't out partying or socialising π
There is a tendency to feel we always should be doing 'something' and if we're not then we're sad/lonely/not enough etc
So many times we feel guilty for not wanting to go the gym, for lying on the sofa watching TV or reading a book when we think we should be doing the housework, the ironing, tidying the garden, studying etc.
We need to remember it's all about balance.
If you are tired then listen to your body and rest.
You'll reap the benefits later β€π

Lovely review from a client who had my Half Day Retreat yesterday ππ»π

Good morning βοΈ
To do deep healing our bodies need time to rest and that's something we rarely do in our over busy lives.
If we're ill and still working, or exercising, or running about doing errands our bodies don't have the time or energy to focus solely on healing. So we need to give it that time!
Take some time to rest and just be! Remember we are human 'beings' not 'doings'.
You deserve rest. You do not need to earn it!
