Have you ever considered having botulinum toxin injections to improve the appearance of wrinkles on your face??
Too scared??
Worried about side effects??
Here are some myths and truths!!

❌ Myth 1: Botulinum toxin is toxic and dangerous

✅ Truth: While botulinum toxin is a potent neurotoxin, in the tiny, controlled doses used for aesthetic purposes, it’s very safe. It’s FDA-approved and has been used for decades in both medical and cosmetic settings.

❌ Myth 2: It will freeze your face and make you expressionless

✅ Truth: When administered properly by a skilled injector, botulinum toxin softens wrinkles without eliminating facial expression. Overuse or incorrect placement can lead to a “frozen” look, but this is avoidable.

❌ Myth 3: It’s only for older people

✅ Truth: Many people in their 20s and 30s use botulinum toxin as a preventive measure against wrinkles. Early, conservative use can help delay deeper lines from forming.

❌ Myth 4: Once you start, you can’t stop

✅ Truth: You can stop treatment at any time. Your wrinkles will gradually return to their natural state; stopping doesn’t make them worse than before, although contrast with your previously smoother skin might make them seem more noticeable.

❌ Myth 5: Results are instant

✅ Truth: Results typically begin to appear within 3–5 days after injection and reach full effect around 10–14 days post-treatment. It’s not immediate.

❌ Myth 6: It stretches the skin or causes sagging over time

✅ Truth: Botulinum toxin doesn’t stretch skin. In fact, by reducing repetitive muscle movement, it may help prevent further skin creasing and aging.

❌ Myth 7: It’s addictive

✅ Truth: There’s no physical addiction to botulinum toxin. Some people enjoy the aesthetic results and choose to continue, but there’s no chemical dependence.

❌ Myth 8: It’s only for women

✅ Truth: Increasingly, men are using botulinum toxin (sometimes referred to as “Brotox”) to soften lines and maintain a youthful appearance.

❌ Myth 9: It works for all wrinkles

✅ Truth: Botulinum toxin is most effective on dynamic wrinkles (caused by muscle movement, like frown lines or crow’s feet). Static wrinkles (present at rest) may require fillers or other treatments.

❌ Myth 10: Any provider can do it

✅ Truth: The results and safety depend heavily on the skill and experience of the injector. It’s important to go to a licensed, qualified medical professional with training in facial anatomy.

Let’s talk sun 🌞 yes we love it, but the damage to the skin can irreversible! SPF is essential throughout the year, but do you really know what else it can do 🤷🏼‍♀️

The sun causes wrinkles primarily through ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which damages the skin over time. Here’s how it works:

1. UV Radiation Breakdown
• UVA rays pe*****te deep into the skin and are mainly responsible for long-term damage like wrinkles and sagging.

2. Collagen and Elastin Breakdown
• UV rays break down collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis (the skin’s supportive layer).
• Collagen provides firmness and elastin allows flexibility. When damaged:
• The skin loses strength and elasticity.
• Wrinkles, sagging, and a leathery texture develop.

3. Free Radical Formation
• These contribute to oxidative stress, accelerating aging and reducing the skin’s ability to repair itself.

4. Thinner Skin and Pigmentation Changes
• Chronic sun exposure can thin the skin, making wrinkles more prominent.
• It also causes uneven pigmentation and age spots, adding to the appearance of aging.

5. DNA Damage
• UV rays can alter DNA in skin cells, affecting their ability to function and renew properly, which contributes to premature aging and increases skin cancer risk

Botulinum toxin, commonly known by brand names like Botox, is primarily used to treat wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralyzing muscles. However, when people refer to “Botulinum toxin filler,” there may be some confusion.

Botulinum toxin is not technically a “filler” because it does not add volume to the skin like traditional dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid or collagen. Instead, Botox and other botulinum toxin treatments temporarily relax specific muscles, reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles

If you were asking about a treatment involving both botulinum toxin and dermal fillers, it’s common for some patients to use them together for comprehensive facial rejuvenation Botox to relax muscles and fillers to restore volume.

Would you like more details about either of these treatments? DM and I can book you in for a free consultation

Customer notice - price increase

Due to the rising costs of some of the products I use I unfortunately need to increase the price of my anti-wrinkle injection treatments.

I did not take this decision lightly, but I refuse to use a cheaper product as the effects are not as good, and I will only offer the highest quality treatments to my clients.

From immediate effect my new prices are as listed below.

1 area of anti-wrinkle- £180
2 areas of anti-wrinkle - £265
3 areas of anti-wrinkle - £290

The price of dermal filler will remain the same.

Heather 😘
