🌷🌞 Springtime Joy at Redwoods! 🌞🌷

Spring has arrived at Redwoods, bringing brighter days, warmer moments and a wonderfully cheerful atmosphere throughout the home 💛✨

Our residents have been making the most of the sunshine, enjoying peaceful afternoons in the garden with tea, biscuits and cheese — the perfect way to relax and soak up the fresh spring air ☕🧀🌼

And here’s a little Easter throwback too… everyone received their chocolate Easter eggs, adding a lovely touch of celebration and delight to the season 🍫🐣💐
There were plenty of smiles as residents and colleagues shared sweet treats and happy conversations together.

💫 What a Fantastic Week at Redwoods! 💛✨

We’ve had such a busy and joyful week, filled with activities, celebrations and plenty of smiles!
To round off Hydration Week, residents enjoyed a wonderful variety of refreshing juices, mocktails and a lovely afternoon tea — the perfect way to stay hydrated in style. 🫖🍹

We also marked National Whisky Day 🥃 and celebrated a very special birthday, adding even more cheer to the week. 🎉🎂

A real highlight was welcoming Heather from the Portmahomack Ceilidh Band, who treated us to brilliant live accordion music. 🎶 Her performance brought everyone together and filled the home with warmth, rhythm and happy energy.

It’s been a week full of laughter, music and meaningful moments — thank you to our amazing colleagues, residents and visitors who made it so special. 💛

🎨 Design the Meallmore Whisky Label 2026 🥃

Last year, a resident named John painted a sunrise.

That painting became our whisky label.
Over 500 people voted for it.
And today, that bottle tells a story - of creativity, community and connection.

Sadly, John passed away in the summer of 2025, but his artwork lives on. His label, Leven Sunrise, is now part of Meallmore history and a reminder of why we run this competition every year.

🍓💧 Nutrition & Hydration Week at Redwoods! 🌼✨

As part of our Nutrition and Hydration Week celebrations, we’ve been exploring lots of delicious foods and refreshing drinks — and today’s activity was a big favourite! 💛

Residents enjoyed a fruit tasting session, trying a colourful variety of flavours and sharing their thoughts, memories and preferences. 🍇🍎🍊

It was wonderful to hear everyone’s voices and feedback, and even nicer to see so many smiles while sampling the fruity treats.
A simple, healthy and joyful activity that brought us all together. 🌿

We spent a wonderful afternoon with local musician Bob Donaldson, who filled our home with beautiful live sing‑along songs in celebration of Mother’s Day. 🎤💕

Residents, families and friends all joined in, creating a warm, joyful atmosphere filled with music, smiles and heartfelt moments. It was a truly special way to come together and celebrate the amazing women in our lives. 🌸✨

🏉⚽ Sporting Spirit at Redwoods! 🎉

What a brilliant week we’ve had enjoying both Scotland rugby and Scottish football together! The energy was high, the smiles were big, and the celebrations were loud as residents joined our colleagues for a fun‑filled dress‑down day.

Everyone enjoyed a lively afternoon with juice, snacks and a party atmosphere, celebrating some fantastic scores and sharing lots of laughter along the way. 🥤🎉

Our interactive TV was put to great use, streaming all the matches and helping bring everyone together for even more fun and engagement throughout the home. 📺🤝✨

Moments like these truly make our home feel full of life, connection and community spirit. 💛

This evening, our residents enjoyed a truly special activity as we explored our new Memory Box, kindly gifted to us by Boots. Each item inside sparked memories, stories and plenty of smiles, creating a lovely opportunity for everyone to reminisce together. 🌟

It was fantastic to see residents chatting, laughing and sharing moments from the past — from treasured memories to little stories that brought joy to the whole room. Activities like these mean so much and help create meaningful connections. 💛

🧁💛 Fairy Cake Fun at Redwoods! 💛🧁

This afternoon some of our residents rolled up their sleeves and got creative as we decorated fairy cakes together — and what a lovely activity it was! 🎨🍰

Everyone joined in, adding icing, sprinkles and plenty of personal touches to make each cake look (and taste!) absolutely delicious. There were lots of smiles, friendly chatter and even a few sneaky sprinkles along the way! ✨

Once finished, the cakes were added to our afternoon tea trolley, and it’s safe to say they went down a treat… the trolley came back completely empty! ☕🧁💬
It was a wonderful afternoon full of sweet treats, good company and plenty of blether.

Our Country Music Bingo afternoon was a fantastic success! Residents and their family members joined in the fun, sang along to their favourite tunes, and enjoyed the excitement of winning prizes. 🎵💛✨

Residents and colleagues came together to enjoy a lovely Pancake Day celebration here at Redwoods Care Home! ✨

Fresh pancakes were made on the griddle, filling the home with the most delicious smell. Everyone enjoyed choosing their own toppings — a fun and tasty way to personalise their treat! 🍓🍯🍫

The atmosphere was wonderfully warm and sociable, with residents and colleagues sitting together, chatting, laughing and sharing conversations throughout the activity 💕

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful yoga and relaxation session, creating a peaceful and positive atmosphere throughout the home. With gentle stretches, mindful breathing and a soothing meditation to finish, it was the perfect way to unwind and restore calm

We were also delighted to introduce our brand‑new Dancesing TV resources!

The room was soon filled with smiles as residents explored music, movement and light‑hearted activity together. It’s amazing to see how these sessions bring joy, energy and connection to everyone involved

We had such a beautiful Valentine’s celebration here in the home! 🌹
A very special thank you to Margo Fraser, who was absolutely fantastic as always 🎶❤️. She has such a special way of connecting with everyone, and it was lovely to see our residents smiling, singing along, and really enjoying every song.
We are so grateful for the happiness she brings each time she visits. 🌟

With delicious food and drinks enjoyed by all, it was a day full of love, laughter, and wonderful memories. 💕🥂
