From 1st May 2026, selected pharmacies across North Tyneside and Northumberland will be offering the contraceptive injection service.

Simply speak to the pharmacist for a consultation to see if this option is suitable for you.

We’re hosting a FreeStyle Libre support session with an Abbott representative to help you get the most out of your device.

This group session will take place in the LOWER BUILDING AT AMG and is a great opportunity to:
✔️ Learn how to better manage your Libre device
✔️ Get answers to any questions you may have
✔️ Feel more confident managing your diabetes

There are limited spaces available so please call the surgery to book your place.

This image shows the volume of medication returned to our GP surgery in just one month.

All returned medicines must be safely destroyed and cannot be reused, even if unopened. This represents a significant and avoidable cost to the NHS.

We kindly ask patients to support us by:
• Only ordering medication that is genuinely needed
• Checking existing supplies at home before requesting repeats
• Avoiding ordering medication too early
• If you are on repeat dispensing and have built up a stock of medication, or are no longer taking any of your prescribed items, please contact the surgery on 01665 510666.

James from Places Leisure will be attending our next pain group to talk about the exercise referral programme and how it can support people living with pain.

We’ll also be able to arrange referrals on the day for anyone who would like to take part.

Important information: Meningitis B cases in Kent

We are aware of recent confirmed cases of Meningitis B in Kent and want to make sure our patients have the information they need to stay safe and seek help promptly.

Meningitis symptoms

These can develop quickly. Symptoms may include:
· A high fever
· Severe headache
· Neck stiffness or difficulty bending the neck
· Sensitivity to light
· Cold hands and feet
· Vomiting
· Drowsiness, confusion, or irritability
· Rash that does not fade when a glass is pressed against it (not always present)

When to seek urgent help

If someone has symptoms of meningitis do not delay in seeking medical attention. Contact your GP surgery if available but if not, go directly to the your nearest A&E.

Vaccination information

The routine NHS immunisation programme currently only offers the Meningitis B vaccine to children up to their second birthday . If your child has been invited for immunisation please be sure to book an appointment get them the protection the vaccine provides.

Selective vaccination programmes may be introduced for other high risk groups if advised by public health authorities, but it is not routinely available for older children and adults.
You can check your own vaccination history through the NHS App and that of your child in their Red Book. For instructions using the NHS app please follow this link: Setting up the NHS App
