The answer will ultimately depend on what you came in for. Some of my patients will feel instant relief after one session, but others will take a few session and exercises at home to realign their body and banish their pain.

The secret to healing your body sooner, is coming in sooner.

As soon as you feel that twinge of pain or notice that you’re experiencing persistent discomfort, book your appointment right away.

Healing your body when your issue is in its early stages will take much less time than if you leave it to get worse over time.

It lies in paying attention to your favourite way to spend time being active!

One of the easiest ways to maintain your mobility and improve your physical health is being more active week to week.

And we all know that you are more likely to commit to doing this if you are doing something you enjoy. So what is your activity of choice?

I love walks along the beach and smelling the salt in the air. I make an effort to head to the beach as much as I can during the summer to enjoy a wonderful walk (ideally in the sunshine) and improve my physical health in the process.

Pushing your limits can feel like progress, but more isn’t always better.

👉 Overtraining doesn’t make you strong; it makes you vulnerable.

👉 Ignoring rest and recovery can lead to injuries that sideline you for weeks (or months).

👉 Real progress isn’t about grinding harder every single day, it’s about training smarter.

If you do want to push your physical boundaries in your chosen sport, make sure to do it the right way. This means seeking professional advice that will ensure that your body doesn’t suffer.

I have seen several athletes that have pushed too hard and require a health professional to help them get themselves back to full physical health.

If you push yourself too far, you’ll end up further behind than you started.

So make sure to train the right way to avoid injury.

Are you in Alnwick or Berwick this summer? Because there is A LOT going on that you can get involved with.

I’ve been finding ways I can enjoy the summer locally in Northumberland, and I thought I would share what I’ve discovered, in case you’d like to get involved in the community during the holidays:

Welcome to Smile Health, I’m Jane Cooper the principal chiropractor and I help to restore health and mobility naturally through chiropractic. I trained at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic which is a gentle whole-body form of treatment and I have also trained in the Activator Method technique.
