What rehab should look like with your physio 👇
Stage 1 — Isometrics
Purpose:
✔️ Reduces pain
✔️ Teaches the nervous system that loading is safe
✔️ Begins rebuilding load tolerance
Stage 2 — Slow, heavy resistance (minimal hip flexion)
Purpose:
✔️ Builds strength and tendon capacity
✔️ Gradually increases load without excessive tendon compression
✔️ Creates the foundation for higher level rehab
Stage 3 — Eccentrics
Purpose:
✔️ Progressive overload
✔️ Improves tendon resilience
✔️ Reintroduces hip flexion under control
Stage 4 — Energy storage loading
Purpose:
✔️ Reintroduces running, acceleration & change of direction
✔️ Prepares the tendon for explosive demands
✔️ Sport-specific return to high intensity movement
