Listen to your body. Act now on cancer.

🩺 ✅ 5 Top Tips to help you talk to your doctor

1️⃣ Be honest: Tell your doctor everything that has changed, even if it feels small or embarrassing.
2️⃣ Describe the change: Explain what’s different and how long it’s been happening. Details help your GP help you.
3️⃣ Write it down: Jot down any questions or symptoms so you don’t forget.
4️⃣ Bring support: Ask a friend or family member to come with you if it helps.
5️⃣ Don’t be afraid to ask again: If something is unclear, ask your doctor to explain it differently.

💛 Your health matters. Early conversations can save lives.

📣 What is Jess’s Rule?

If you visit your GP with the same symptoms or health concern three times without improvement or a clear diagnosis, Jess’s Rule encourages your GP to take a fresh look at your situation.

It means:
✔ Offering a face-to-face review if previous appointments were remote
✔ Seeking a second clinical opinion
✔ Considering further tests or referral if needed

This approach, three strikes, time to rethink, is part of a new NHS initiative named in memory of Jessica Brady, to help ensure serious conditions aren’t missed or diagnosed too late.

If you’re worried your symptoms aren’t getting better, you have the right to speak up, and now there’s a clear framework to help ensure your concerns are fully considered.
