We wanted to clarify a few things regarding cancelling some of our NHS routine appointments. This is NOT so we can see more private patients. We are actually seeing more NHS patients than usual due to so many patients having dental problems/pain. Therefore, we are very sorry, but we have had to cancel some routine appointments for check-ups as we are prioritising emergency appointments at this time.
We generally see people on the same day they phone if they are in pain. Although we do have dedicated emergency slots, this can mean longer waiting times for patients waiting to be seen routinely. To ease these waiting times we have decided to postpone non-emergency treatment for the time being. We are sorry to have to do this but our practice priority to treat those in greater need at this time.
Recent changes to NHS dental care in England are focused on a significant, phased overhaul of the contract, with major updates announced in late 2025 for implementation shortly. These reforms are designed to address access issues by prioritizing urgent care and complex cases, and by shifting away from 6-month check-ups for healthy patients.
If you find you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment for any reason, please give at least 24 hours-notice. If we are closed, you can leave a message on our answer machine. This releases your appointment slot to someone else in need. We want to thank all of our patients for their understanding. THANKYOU!
