Wishing you a blessed Imbolc ✨🌱

Imbolc is a festival of light, celebrating stirrings of spring after the darkness of winter. A halfway point between winter solstice & spring equinox.

The darkest days might be behind us but we can still go slow, rest a little longer, gather energies building the resources for spring growth.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Kidneys store the foundation of Life, an essence called ‘JING’. This Kidney essence is regarded as essential for reproduction, growth and development… February is great time to harness your JING, basically caring for the kidneys - keeping them warm, rested & hydrated with lots of sleep & water.

You can also boost your JING with a little acupressure at home… locate this point just behind the inside ankle bone (in the little dip of the ankle). Gentle massage in a small circle, with flat fingers to make the point feel warm & relaxed. Repeat as often as you like 🤍

Reflections from a Winter Retreat Workshop...

Last weekend I hosted my Winter Retreat session with 11 beautiful souls. We took time to embrace the qualities of Winter to pause, look inward & REST.

Our session’s focus is to remind each of us to find moments in every day, to be mindful & to PAUSE…..& to use those moments to reset, either with a simple shoulder roll, stopping to listen to the sound of the wind or the rain, or perhaps a mini facial sequence (all of which we do in the workshop space). Taking 2 or 3 key reflex points to help you reset.

Thank you to those who took a bit of their time to send gorgeous feedback on the session, it really makes my day to receive these!

3 Top Tips to Boost Winter Immunity ❄️🤍

1. Thymus Tapping - Boost your Morning Energy Levels. Tapping the thymus* gland will stimulate your immune system, giving it a boost. The little thumping movements create vibrations, increasing the release of white blood cells. White blood cells are our SOLDIER cells which fight infection. *Chest, between lungs.

How? …. Using your fingertips, or the side of your fist, tap UP & DOWN, about 2-3 inches along your sternum*. Think chest puffing gorillas! Do this for 15-20 seconds, continue to take regular slow breaths. Do 1-3 times a day, or up to 4 times if feeling poorly. *T-shaped vertical chest bone.

2. Nutritious Bug-Busting Smoothies. Handful of Blueberries & Strawberries - Fresh or Frozen. A sq**rt of HONEY. 1 Banana. Handful of OATS. Almond or Coconut Milk. BLEND, POUR, ENJOY!

3. Kidney Care. Give them some LOVE. RUB your hands up & down the LOWER BACK either side of the spine. Your Kidneys will love you if you keep them.... WARM & COSY, fully hydrated - DRINK lots of water & fully recharged with REST, treat yourself to an early night, or two.

WINTERING - Tips to look inward & PAUSE

RECHARGE your BATTERIES
❄️ Eat whole foods ❄️ Get outside into sunlight a little every day to boost your your vitamin D levels & help maintain your cicadium rhythm ❄️ Go to bed before 10pm

START the day with 5-minutes of MEDITATION
❄️ Lie in bed for 5 minutes before getting up ❄️ Breathe 8 full breaths to energise & create peace & calm

Make FRICTION FITNESS your morning practice
❄️ Rub oils into the body after your morning shower or bath ❄️ Massage avocado oil or almond oil into the skin to create heat & friction ❄️ Tense the muscles under the hands while rubbing to create more heat ❄️ It will stimulate the lymphatics system, warm the body, boost blood flow, improve tone & elasticity ❄️ Incorporate essential oils - Wild Orange to uplift, Grapefruit to cleanse and Lavender to calm

In January I take time to rest, recover & reflect. A little post-December PAUSE.

I use this time to reflect on the past year, to look inwards, nurturing those roots & seeds of new ideas & reflections.

Let's step away from the festive cheer & razzle-dazzle of December slowly but surely.

Winter is not the time to rise, it’s time to be still, be lazy, be slow & considerate before committing to the new-year, new-you resolutions.

At the beginning of this week I hosted two Children’s Christmas Craft & Wellbeing holiday clubs in Chawton. Both sessions were completely sold out! We had lots of brilliant crafts made & lots of giggles playing silly games. Look out for the photos on Stories & saved in highlights.

I’ve eased through the rest of the week spending time with a few clients & had lots of festive joy with my girls, including panto - OH YES WE DID!

As I take this time to pause from work for the week ahead I wanted to thank you for the support this year, from my clients to my social media followers - you all mean so much to me.

Happy Half Term!

It’s time to enjoy nature’s Autumn wonders & roll-out my school holiday camps 🍁🕷️🍂🎃

This week I’ll be in Chawton hosting Autumnal-Spooky half-term camps 🦇🕷️
🍂 Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
🍂 10am-4pm
I have just a couple of spaces left for the Tuesday session if you need childcare.

Then I’ll have a couple of days in-between to be with my own family & enjoy these beautiful autumn days with my girls.

It’s my favourite school holiday & we have a couple of family traditions, including making an autumn leaf wreath, which is so easy to do.

🍁 All you need is a wire clothes hanger, bent into a circle.
🍁 Go for a walk to collect your leaves.
🍁 Get the kids to thread leafs onto the hanger.
🍁 The brilliant reds, golds & yellow leaf colours look wonderful & make a gorgeous front door welcome wreath.

Autumn leaves hold so much inspiration!!

BALANCE is my go-to ESSENTIAL OIL.

This little bottle is a super GROUNDING oil which evokes tranquility & wellbeing.

It’s PACKED with wonderfully warm & woody aromas -

🌿Black Spruce
🌿Ho Leaf
🌿Frankincense
🌿Blue Tansy
🌿Blue Chamomile

I use ritually, three times daily ….

MORNING
Rub 1-2 drops into the soles of my feet.
Did you know …the pores on the feet are some of the largest on the body!
These openings are ideal for transdermal absorption, allowing essential oils to quickly pass through the layers of skin, releasing its benefits.

AFTERNOON
Inhale. Take 3 deep breaths from cupped hands of 1-2 drops of oil.

EVENING
Add 2-3 drops to a hot bath.
Mix into a tsp of milk so the oil doesn’t just sit on the surface of the water.

You can use anytime of the day. The little bottles are so convenient, the benefits are SO long lasting!!

It’s increasingly difficult to peel ourselves out of bed in the half-light of the morning & productivity can drain away early with the dissapearing afternoon sun.

To help you feel your best & provide relief from winter bugs I recommend ESSENTIAL OILS.

Here are my favourite blends.

WELLNESS BOOST
Peppermint, Oregano & Frankincense
Supports a healthy immune & respiratory system.
The peppermint has natural antibiotic properties.
The combination is energizing with uplifting aromas.

WINTER CHEST
Frankincense, Thyme, Oregano, Ginger, Eucalyptus & Cypress
Relieves a chesty cough to ease breathing.
Apply along sternum (breast bone, middle torso) in an upward motion several times a day.

DEEP SLEEP & REST
Cedarwood, Lavender & Bergamot
