Today at Halecroft Grange 💜☕

We celebrated National Tea Party Day in the best way possible — with our dining room transformed into a proper party setting. Beautifully dressed tables, fresh flowers, and a real sense of occasion throughout 🌸

Chef Sarah was at it again, creating a stunning spread that looked just as good as it tasted… and yes, the banana dolphins definitely stole the show 🐬🍌

With music playing, conversations flowing, and plenty of refreshing drinks keeping everyone going (perfect timing for National Hydration Week too 😉🥤), the atmosphere was spot on from start to finish.

Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Listen, Talk, Connect event — the room was full, the conversations were flowing, and the atmosphere was just right 🙌

A sincere thank you as well to our fantastic speakers — the talks were engaging, insightful, and really resonated with so many in the room 👏
And we have to mention the food… 👀

Head Chef Sarah created a beautiful table of blended dishes that not only looked incredible but tasted just as good — a real highlight of the afternoon 👩‍🍳✨

✈️ Taking flight through history! ✈️

Last week we took a couple of our residents from Halecroft Grange to the Avro Heritage Museum — a fantastic local museum celebrating the incredible aviation history of Woodford. Open for the last 10 years and run by a brilliant team of dedicated volunteers, it’s a truly special place.
This trip was a special wish for both Geoff and Fiona, and it couldn’t have been more meaningful. Geoff actually served in the Air Force and is a member of the museum himself, so returning there brought back plenty of memories.

One of the highlights of the day was watching a powerful real-life film about the Lancaster Bomber and the brave WW2 crews who flew these incredible missions. The residents were completely captivated.
Geoff and Fiona also spent time chatting with the wonderful volunteers, asking questions and sharing stories – it was lovely to see the history come alive through conversation.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who keep this incredible piece of local history alive. It was a brilliant day out and one our residents thoroughly enjoyed. ✈️

🌙 A Beautiful Ramadan Visit at Halecroft Grange 💜

On Saturday, we were delighted to welcome three of our wonderful local neighbours — Ayesha, Maryam and Harris — into Halecroft Grange 💜. The trio are members of our local community and practising Muslims who are spending the month of Ramadan spreading kindness in a truly special way.

Each weekend during Ramadan, they have been visiting neighbours across the community, taking the time to explain what this important month means to them. During their visit, they very kindly gifted our residents beautiful boxes filled with chocolates, sweet and savoury treats, along with a thoughtful card which read:

"Hi, we're your neighbours from Altrincham Mosque and for the month of Ramadan we thought we'd gift you some sweet treats. For us, kindness is a form of worship. We hope you enjoy 🙂

Our residents were over the moon with the gesture. There were lots of questions, lovely conversations and genuine curiosity as everyone learned more about each other's beliefs and traditions. It was a heartwarming moment of community, understanding and connection.

There was also a lovely surprise when Harris, who used to be a pupil at Hale Prep School, met the founder of the school during the visit. The two instantly recognised each other and enjoyed a wonderful catch-up — such a special and unexpected moment!

A huge thank you to Ayesha, Khadija and Harris for such a thoughtful visit. Your kindness meant a great deal to everyone here and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. 💜

🌸 International Women’s Day at Halecroft Grange 💜

Today at Halecroft Grange, we took a moment to celebrate the incredible women who make our home such a special place. From our wonderful residents to our dedicated team members and the lovely female carers & visitors who spend time with us — today was all about recognising the strength, kindness and warmth that women bring to our community every single day. 💖

To mark International Women’s Day, our team prepared little gift bags filled with a beautifully scented candle and some delicious chocolates 🍫🕯️ — a small token of appreciation for the amazing women who brighten our home with their presence.

The gifts were a lovely surprise and went down an absolute treat. Residents, visitors and team members were delighted with their little pamper bags — a simple gesture, but a nice way to show how much the women in our community mean to us. 🌷

Here’s to strong women.
May we know them, may we be them, and may we celebrate them — today and every day. ✨

📚✨ World Book Day at Halecroft Grange 💜 ✨📚

What a wonderful morning we’ve had at Halecroft Grange 💜 celebrating World Book Day with some very special visitors from Broussa Nursery!

From Spiderman 🕷️ to beautiful Princesses 👑, Chefs 👨‍🍳 to Doctors 👩‍⚕️, and even characters from Gryffindor and Slytherin 🧙‍♂️, our home was filled with imagination, colour and plenty of smiles. The children arrived in fantastic costumes and were so excited to share their favourite stories with our residents.

Our residents absolutely loved listening to the stories and chatting with the children about their outfits and the characters they had come dressed as. Moments like this are so special — bringing generations together through stories, laughter and a shared love of books. ❤️

A huge thank you to the wonderful team and children from Broussa Nursery for spending the morning with us and making the day so memorable. We hope to see you all again very soon!

🌟 February GEM Award 🌟

This month, we’re honoring our phenomenal Residential Dementia Team at Halecroft Grange 💜

Their compassion is unmatched. When a resident passed away, 14 team members attended the funeral—12 on their day off. That’s true dedication.

Families have shared: “Thank you for all your teamwork and care in outbreak—you kept going and stayed positive.” They willingly took on every role, from care to dining, during tough outbreaks. “It’s a pleasure to work alongside you,” another said, recognizing their outstanding dementia care and two award nominations.

From deep cleaning to activities, through resilience and unwavering positivity, they’re loved in the building. Congratulations to our team—this one’s for you! 🎉

A guide to dementia-friendly conversation

On Thursday 5th March from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, Halecroft Grange will be hosting a special afternoon dedicated to understanding how meaningful communication can enhance the lives of those living with dementia.

Join us as our expert speakers — including dementia champions, therapists and specialists — share practical guidance, insight and real-life experience on how to build confidence when supporting someone with dementia.

This event is open to families, professionals and members of our local community who want to feel more informed, empowered and connected.

🎻✨ A Wonderful Afternoon of Music at Halecroft Grange 💜 ✨🎻

Yesterday we had the absolutely brilliant Ian Sharpley return to Halecroft for an afternoon of beautiful cello music 🎶

This was Ian’s second visit to our home and once again he did not disappoint! We had almost a full house, with residents and visitors gathering together to enjoy the performance 👏✨

The music selection was a huge hit — there was dancing 💃🕺, singing along 🎤🎶 and so many smiling faces 😊 It truly was such a lovely afternoon filled with warmth, laughter and wonderful live music ✨

A huge thank you to Ian — we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back again very soon! 🎻💐
