Evolving the study of Anatomy with the fantastic .tilston, thank you for sharing your unique insight into the body with your experiential approach , feeling how all systems of the body are integrated and WHOLE not separate and disconnected.

All muscles need to work in harmony, forming a symphony of movement. When a muscle is stretched, there also needs to be stability. This leads to a healthy neural platform.

The human body is organised in many complex patterns. Western medicine has leant towards segregating the body, we take a more eastern approach, an integration of bodily functions and systems via meridian lines, movement patterns and connection with the breath and the subtle elements that affect the Autonomic Nervous System. 

We also touch on the need to integrate the two hemispheres of the brain and how we can balance them, this happens as a direct result of Pranayama and Meditation. This moves us towards Unity Consciousness.

Are you feeling POWERFUL?

If not why, not bust out a this simple power posture?
No tricky twists or balances, just rooted and grounded through the feet, arms outstretched. After a few moments you begin to feel the breath opening, as you shout out loud or in your head, i am powerful and i am strong …try it!

When life gets challenging, we often forget that the power is in the present moment, as our minds oscillates between the stories and hurts of the past and the anxiety of the future.
It’s a challenge to just to get on the mat, or to focus on the breath.
Keep it simple then, just get back into your body, out of your head , no need to scale a mountain, just find the courage to step forward, you may find things change.

Yoga~ the practice of stilling those whirlpools of the mind so we can shift from the thinking mind to the feeling body.

“Looking back to that first photo of me stepping into the lake from our teacher training in wales, I can feel the deep shifts that have taken shape mentally, physically and spiritually.

I’ve recently returned to continue my studies with at Evolve completing an incredible 6 months of exploration and expansion in the Breath of Life Pranayama Training ~ diving deeper into the wonderful world of breath, our life force, the subtle energy that sustains all of life.

The depth of this practice and the effects on our body and mind continues to amaze me. Being able to shape the flow of your inhale and exhale has a huge influence on both your emotional and mental state – offering the tools to support and regulate your own nervous system and to purify your nadis or energy channels.

So how does this support you in life and in being ? ~ it brings stillness and stability, reduces anxiety and stress, allows you to bring heat or cool your body and offers access and awareness to a more focused, clear, grounded and centered self.

I’m excited to continue to integrate these learnings into my daily personal practice and weave into my teachings too.

What a privilege to have spent the last 11 months studying, practising, breathing, listening, learning and unlearning with

So grateful to my teachers and for gently guiding me on this journey, for holding space and sharing their incredible wisdom.

What has made this journey even more special is sharing the year with the most wonderful group of women. We have built a community rooted in our love of yoga but connected through our love, encouragement and support for one another. This is yoga.

Breaking FREE from mental turmoil ~
If we can focus our minds on the sensations that arise during yoga āsana practice, then practice becomes more embodied, we become more ‘present’ , we get out of our mental turmoil.

This then helps us to develop the powers of concentration, a laser like FOCUS of the mind.

In this way the body becomes the ‘field’ of awareness and a tool for a meditative awareness to grow & EVOLVE.

Through practice we begin channelise the behaviour of the mind, in other words we turn the negative spin of the mind , the self sabotaging thoughts into a more positive spin. We become more compassionate and loving towards ourselves and others.

This is the meaning of Yoga according to Patanjali, ( the eight steps of Ashtanga Yoga) in the second Sutra;

Yogaś chitta vritti Nirodhah.

Some days the body will feel good, and the e-motions positive , some days it will feel intense and the energy in motion turbulent. Its the breath that helps us to stay present on whatever is arising.
So whatever is arising LOVE it back to wholeness.

Welcome to Evolve Yoga Training, what makes this Training School unique is it’s approach to teaching the correct and efficient management of the breath as the foundation stone of Hatha Yoga. Our approach is to respect the traditional Hatha approach to placing good alignment of the movements of body and breath around a central axis, this alignment is conducive to meditation, so we can feel the deeper elements and benefits of Yoga as a means to transform the mind.

Our approach to asana will take you on a journey, exploring the traditional Hatha postures and how they have evolved in to vinyasa styles, a transformative and progressive experience, opening up more space in the body and using intelligent movement patterns to expand the breath to bring about a calmness of mind and a better connection to self. We have a fully integrated approach fusing the traditional roots of Yoga with modern scientific knowledge, that our teachers share with dedication and passion, always from the heart so that you teach form yours, consciously evolving one peaceful warrior at a time.
