SELF PRACTICE on our 200hrs | TT

Why this approach? Dr.Kate Harrison talks about her experience of this approach to “ getting to know “ the body and the habits of your mind.

Her deeper understanding has taken her forward in her role of helping others in their recovery of cancer.

The objective of this is firstly to establish time to go with in to build a better relationship with ‘you’

Each posture is broken down into the tiniest of elements in our afternoon asana surgery, looking into the energetic spirals and counter spirals to open up
the body from inside out.

The approach we take is to facilitate a practice that is sustainable, one you can
practice from a deeper place of
‘knowing’ why you are doing what you are doing.

Going deeper into self practice means you will always teach from a place of authenticity.

MEET THE TEACHERS
Jamie Davies .beinghuman

Course Leader | 200hrs TTC | Anatomy of Movement

My journey has taught me that growth isn’t always about striving for more, sometimes, it’s about softening, listening, and returning. This is the essence of my teaching: to create spaces where people can explore, expand, and also come home to themselves.

At the heart of everything I offer is the intention to guide people back to centre. My multi-faceted approach encourages individuals to explore the edges of their thinking, step beyond perceived limitations, and reconnect with their full potential — all while staying grounded in presence and self-awareness.

It’s this sense of balance — between expansion and stillness, growth and grounding — that I hope to inspire in others.

Having once been a student at TTC, to be on I’m honoured to return — this time as part of the teaching team. My journey has come full circle, and it’s a privilege to now share the practices that have supported and shaped me along the way.

I’ve learned that constant striving for more can sometimes lead us away from ourselves. I’ve personally experienced how chasing an idea of “greater” can pull us out of the now and leave us feeling disconnected. In those moments, it’s the practice — the mat, the breath, the stillness — that brings me back. When I feel lost or overwhelmed, placing my hands on the ground and following my breath gives me the space to reset, rebalance, and return to a sense of calm and clarity.

I teach weekly yoga classes and lead bootcamp fitness sessions, and I’m also a certified rope flow coach and animal flow instructor. My offerings extend beyond the studio through evening retreats that weave together yoga asana, pranayama, and sound healing. I also host immersive day retreats grounded in holistic practices — blending breathwork, cold water exposure, movement through play and skill exploration, as well as community connection and personal reflection.

Happy Diwali 🪔

Bringing the light of your presence into the world .

May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu is a Sanskrit mantra.

It is a universal prayer for well-being that extends to all living creatures and reflects a deep sense of interconnectedness. It serves as a reminder to cultivate compassion and contribute to the happiness and freedom of all.

Almost at the end of their transformative journey, sharing how to share the gift of presence with others.

🫁Our breath is the most powerful way of bringing ourselves back to centre, back to calm.

🌱This restorative position opens the diaphragm to allow deeper observation.

Watching how someone breathes is a game changer, watching if the breath maybe stuck in rapid chest breathing indicating stressful mental states.

✨But we can change this!✨

Guiding the breath back to a deep belly breath will quickly shift the nervous system ~ calming the mind.

When we observe our breath, we become more aware of the unconscious patterns of our minds.

MEET THE TEACHERS
Sammy -Jo Scarbrough -Lang

Senior Teacher | 200hrs TTC | Asana, Prānāyāma & Ayurveda

Yoga for me is not something separate from life — it is life. It’s in how I approach my work as a nurse, how I parent and grandparent, how I connect with community, and how I share with others. It is both my personal practice and my offering to others.

Even though I was drawn to yoga through a physical practice a few decades later, my curiosity deepened — I wanted to understand more about yoga’s wider impact on health and wellbeing. I began to cultivate a pranayama practice and advancing trainings with Vicki & my understanding of the breath truly transformed, my daily practice and the foundation of everything I now teach and share.

Recognising the important connection to a rich lineage of Kaivalyadhama, and unique breath focus my journey continued with my second 200hrs with Evolve Yoga Training 8 years ago.

As a Senior Yoga Teacher, I work with the wisdom of the Eight Limbs of Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga), where asana is not the end point but a gateway — a way to open the body and connect with the breath, without breath there is no yoga. Through intelligent sequencing, inner awareness can be developed, supported by the rhythm of breath and the use of focal points. This creates a presence in the moment, allowing students to feel and acknowledge what arises.

I believe we can only guide others authentically once we’ve observed and experienced the benefits of practice for ourselves.

For me, yoga is a living, breathing practice of self-inquiry, presence, and connection.

What an inspiring weekend!❤️
Exploring the Carbon Dioxide advantage~ pausing the breath,
slowing down the mind = less reactive thoughts.

🫁 How are YOU breathing ?

Is your newsfeed full of people telling you to breathe, and make sure it’s deep?

♾️Has anyone showed you that you may have got into habits that restrict your breath?

✨BREATH of LIFE ✨
Workshop & Training with

Sharing simple tools that help gain greater control of the exhale , allows you to PAUSE~ when you can pause the breath you are less reactive, more relaxed .

🙌🏼So happy to see these dedicated students dive deep into their breath by connecting to the pelvic floor to cultivate a deeper EXHALE….

When we focus on lengthening the EXHALE it allows for a fuller INHALE. We shift the activity of the nervous system, and in turn the MIND.

The quality and management of your breath is key, not just in your yoga practice but every moment of your waking day.

The slow stretch of the INHALE allows for the absorption of CO2 the benefits of which are mind-blowing! It’s CO2 which helps the body absorb oxygen…just breathing deep is such a faulty narrative.

…it’s an incredibly powerful tool to heal our bodies and focus the mind. Imagine if we got taught this in schools? I often ponder this, we could transform so much trauma, so much unhappiness 🥰

Thank you to my wonderful teachers Dr. OP Tiwariji and for sharing their dedication and wisdom to the science of the breath.

Evolving the study of Anatomy with the fantastic .tilston, thank you for sharing your unique insight into the body with your experiential approach , feeling how all systems of the body are integrated and WHOLE not separate and disconnected.

All muscles need to work in harmony, forming a symphony of movement. When a muscle is stretched, there also needs to be stability. This leads to a healthy neural platform.

The human body is organised in many complex patterns. Western medicine has leant towards segregating the body, we take a more eastern approach, an integration of bodily functions and systems via meridian lines, movement patterns and connection with the breath and the subtle elements that affect the Autonomic Nervous System.

We also touch on the need to integrate the two hemispheres of the brain and how we can balance them, this happens as a direct result of Pranayama and Meditation. This moves us towards Unity Consciousness.

Teacher Training 200hrs 2021

Welcome to Evolve Yoga Training, what makes this Training School unique is it’s approach to teaching the correct and efficient management of the breath as the foundation stone of Hatha Yoga. Our approach is to respect the traditional Hatha approach to placing good alignment of the movements of body and breath around a central axis, this alignment is conducive to meditation, so we can feel the deeper elements and benefits of Yoga as a means to transform the mind.

Our approach to asana will take you on a journey, exploring the traditional Hatha postures and how they have evolved in to vinyasa styles, a transformative and progressive experience, opening up more space in the body and using intelligent movement patterns to expand the breath to bring about a calmness of mind and a better connection to self. We have a fully integrated approach fusing the traditional roots of Yoga with modern scientific knowledge, that our teachers share with dedication and passion, always from the heart so that you teach form yours, consciously evolving one peaceful warrior at a time.
