💧 Staying hydrated isn’t just about water… it’s about enjoyment too 💧
I was reminded the other day that sometimes it’s not just what someone drinks — it’s the comfort, memories and enjoyment that come with it.
So rather than encouraging litres of water, think about what your loved one truly enjoys ☕
A favourite coffee or hot chocolate can be just as important and small changes like switching to decaf can really help.
It’s all about meeting people where they are and making things easier, not harder.
As part of Nutrition and Hydration Week, it’s a great time to remember how important regular meals and fluids are.
For those living with dementia, staying hydrated can help reduce increased confusion and other complications linked to dehydration 🍎 visit our blog https://www.homeinstead.co.uk/altrincham/blog/help-loved-ones-stay-hydrated/

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day and all the love, care and quiet strength that mothers bring into the world. 💐

But we also know that today can be a difficult day for many. For those who have lost their mum, those who are missing someone they love, those who longed to be a mum but never had the chance, or for whom relationships are complicated, we’re thinking of you too.

However you are feeling today, please be gentle with yourself. Take the day at your own pace and know that you are not alone.
Sending love to all the mothers, grandmothers, step-mums, mother figures, and to everyone holding memories close to their hearts today.

“‘I’m so glad I jumped ship.’ – the words in a lovely card we received today.”
Sometimes people feel they have to stick with care that isn’t quite right — but the truth is, you can always change your mind.
Today we received a lovely card from a new client who told us she was so pleased she had “jumped ship.” After struggling with care that didn’t quite meet her needs...calls at the wrong time, visits that didn’t go ahead, and everyday routines not being supported, she decided it was time for a change.
Within just a few days of joining Home Instead Altrincham, Sale & Wythenshawe, she had already written to praise Hazel for her efficiency and communication, and the Care Professionals for taking the time to really listen and understand what matters to them.
Together they’ve set up routines, found gentle work-arounds when personal care is refused, and made space for the little things that make a day feel good, including a lovely blow-dry from her Care Professional so she feels her best.
Getting to know our clients inside out is the most important part of what our client teams do. Every person is different and for us, that’s a joy, not a bind.
If your care doesn’t feel quite right, remember you always have a choice. Sometimes taking that leap makes all the difference.
