Timperley Nursing Home Timperley is a dementia and nursing care home, purpose built in 2009 in the Cheshire village of Timperley.

It has won many awards including the Trafford Dementia Kite Mark Award, Dignity in Care Award and the North-west End of Life Care Award.

What’s the best way to celebrate ? Fresh air, sunshine, and delicious mocktails in the garden 🌿🍹 Our residents enjoyed a relaxing afternoon soaking up the sun while sipping on refreshing mocktails like mojitos and piña coladas.
Staying hydrated has never been so enjoyable! 💜

We had a lovely St. Patrick’s Day celebration today ☘️
The Good Companions ukulele band joined us and we all enjoyed singing along to some Irish songs 🎶
Our residents were treated to a little Baileys, some Guinness, and a few tasty treats too, which went down very well! And to make the day even more special, we had a visit from Paddy himself 🤣🍀

Today we celebrated Mother’s Day in a lovely, warm atmosphere .
We enjoyed a special three-course dinner together, followed by a beautiful buffet with handmade cakes ready for later.
We were also delighted to have music from singer Vince Hughes which added a wonderful touch to the celebration. 🎶
To show our appreciation, all the lovely mums received a small gift – a squishy cushion with a flower design, a handmade card, and a ceramic plant pot. We’re looking forward to using the pots later for some gardening to brighten up our beautiful bedrooms.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day and felt how special they are. 💐

We had a wonderful time celebrating British Science Week with our residents! 🔬✨
Together with our sister home Four Oaks Care Home, we enjoyed a lovely trip to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to explore the fascinating world of science while discovering some of Manchester’s rich industrial history.
Our residents had the chance to try a fun experiment, visit the old history wing, and learn about some of the amazing inventions that helped shape the city. One of our lovely ladies summed it up perfectly, saying, “I loved seeing how things used to work years ago. It brought back lots of memories.”
After exploring the museum, we all enjoyed a relaxing lunch with hot drinks, plenty of laughs, and wonderful conversations. ☕😊
is a nationwide celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, encouraging people of all ages to explore and enjoy science. The Science and Industry Museum is one of Manchester’s most well-known museums, highlighting the city’s important role in the Industrial Revolution and scientific innovation.
It was a fantastic day out filled with learning, smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories! 📸

We had a lovely day out with the incredible Brenda Grixti in Wythenshawe Town Centre to celebrate International Women’s Day.🌸
We made a few short visits to local event organized for the day and had the chance to listen to inspiring women sharing their stories of strength, resilience and success. It was truly uplifting to hear their experiences.
We also saw an amazing art wall project created by local children — and it was wonderful to see that Brenda herself was part of this project.

Brenda’s journey is truly remarkable. From managing Benchill Community Centre in Wythenshawe, Manchester, she became a beacon of community service, supporting countless families and embodying the true spirit of community engagement. Her dedication has been recognised with many honours, including the Women in Housing Award in 2015 and being appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2009 by the then Prince Charles for her outstanding voluntary work.
Afterwards, we enjoyed cake and a latte together with Brenda and her family.
A simple but very special day celebrating an inspiring woman and the community she has helped shape. 💜

We had a lovely time celebrating the reopening of our refurbished salon. Our Regional Operations Director Pauline, officially cut the ribbon and we celebrated with some cheese and wine with our wonderful ladies. Some even enjoyed trying out our nail bar!

We are so excited to share a little update about our wonderful pen pal project! 💌
Our journey started back in December, and since then something truly special has been happening. We recently received over 20 letters from the lovely students at Sale High School and reading them has been an absolute joy.
Every single letter was filled with personality, kindness, and curiosity. Some made us laugh out loud, while others were surprisingly thoughtful and touching. It’s amazing how much you can learn about someone through a handwritten letter!
We made sure that every single letter received a reply, because these students took the time and effort to write to us, and they absolutely deserved the same in return.
This experience reminded us how powerful simple connections can be.
A huge thank you to the fantastic students for taking part — what a brilliant group of young people you are! We hope this is just the beginning of many more letters to come. ✉️✨

Not many people know that one of our lovely residents, Barbara, is a talented writer! 📚✍️
Barbara O’Brien was born in Lancashire and later moved to New York at the age of 21, where she worked as an advertising copywriter. After spending two years in the USA, she returned to England and worked as a television press officer, helping to publicise a top soap opera and a leading current affairs programme.
Eventually, Barbara followed her true passion – writing. She left her job to focus on novels and went on to publish six books under the name Barbara Hart. Even today, her books can still be found and purchased, which makes her incredibly proud.
It feels especially meaningful to celebrate Barbara around World Book Day and International Women’s Day – two occasions that perfectly recognise creativity, storytelling, and the achievements of inspiring women like her.
Barbara is also proud that the love of writing continues in her family, with other family members becoming writers too. What a wonderful legacy to pass on! ❤️
We are so proud to have such a talented author as part of our community.
