It's important to take care of your hearing aids, proper maintenance extends the life of them and ensures clear, consistent sound quality. Dirt and dust can damage hearing aids, and of course you want to avoid this.

Ideally you should always wash and dry your hands before touching your hearing aids. This helps prevent the small microphone becoming blocked and reducing the clarity of what you hear. Wipe your hearing aids with a soft, dry cloth to remove any debris

World Hearing Day is an annual global advocacy event for raising awareness regarding hearing loss and promoting ear and hearing care, and calling for action to address hearing loss and related issues. Each year, this event is celebrated on 3 March, covering a specific theme on which the World Health Organization and its partners carry out activities based on this theme.

This year, WHD highlights the theme "From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children."

The campaign focuses on two imperatives:
-Preventing avoidable childhood hearing loss
-Ensuring early identification of and care for children with ear or hearing problems

Communities and classrooms are natural entry points to reach children, parents, and teachers. By integrating hearing care into school health and child health programs, we can help children hear, learn, and succeed.

Head over to the World Health Organization's website for access to lots of resources on hearing loss in both children and adults.

Microsuction is a safe and pain-free way of removing ear wax that is non-invasive and very effective. This is our main method of ear wax removal.

It takes very little time to complete but can make a real difference right away if you do have a buildup of wax and are suffering from discomfort or ear wax. During the microsuction process, your audiologist will use a microscopic loupes to get a detailed view of your ear canal and the ear wax build-up. Once the target areas are identified, a suction pump is used to remove the wax in a safe and comfortable way.

For our clients that suffer from hard or impacted wax, rest assured that microsuction is one of the most comfortable ways to remove it. The process involves no contact with the ear canal. It is the method preferred by our customers and healthcare professionals alike for its guaranteed, effective results.

To book in for earwax removal you can ring us on 0161 989 1288 or visit our website.

Hearing loss often happens gradually, which means many people don’t notice the changes straight away. You might still hear sounds, but conversations become harder to follow, especially in busy places.

A hearing check can help you understand what’s happening and whether support could make everyday listening easier. Wearing a hearing aid isn’t about changing who you are, it’s about helping you hear more clearly and confidently. Many people are surprised by how much easier conversations feel once they have the right support, allowing them to relax and enjoy social moments again.

Contact us to book your hearing health assessment through our website or on 0161 989 1288.
