Marathon day 😬. Can I say a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, and made a donation to the Christie hospital. I wanted to do the run for all the people I’ve known who have had cancer. I’ll put a live link on here as I start the race (if it works). Edward

On 16th April I will be running in the Manchester marathon and trying to raise some money for the Christie hospital. This is in memory of all the people I have known who have been lost to cancer. NHS flu vaccinations are now free for all people aged 50 and over. We have stock of both vaccines for over 65 and under available. No appointment necessary but might be a good idea to phone to ensure we have enough in stock

Just a quick reminder for everyone to get their flu vaccination done this year. If you want us to do it please let us know. Its not necessary to book an appointment but it might be helpful to ring as we have been busy in the last week.
Please make sure you where a mask if you can to keep everyone as safe as possible. We are making sure that we disinfect all surfaces between each vaccination and trying to maintain a maximum of three people in the pharmacy at any one time to ensure social distancing.
Patient groups this year include of the previous years groups and now all adult contacts of patient who received shielding letters this year. We will be providing vaccination to people not included in the free NHS service starting in the next few weeks.

Hope everyone managed to enjoy the good weather over Easter. I know it's not an easy time for many people and hope that you are all coping ok. It's Thursday again so I'd just like to give some thanks to some people.
Firstly the team at the pharmacy- Helen, Sara, Laura, Gwen.
Also the people who have helped us get medication to people who have needed it. So to Laurence Herron- who has definitely gone above and beyond the last few weeks. Also to Sue Shufflebotham, Morag Dasiewicz and Leanne Teggart without whom we couldn't have made all of our deliveries- so thanks.
Finally thanks for all your thanks- it always makes such a difference.

Just a few quick reminders on the ongoing Covid-19 situation

-Please act responsibly and do not come into the pharmacy if you have symptoms of infection such as a cough or fever.
-Please help us by only buying medicines and supplies that you need right now to treat you and your family.
-At the moment we cannot get hand gel or thermometers and paracetamol stocks are very low.
-If you could order your medicines via email (broomwood.pharmacy@nhs.net) if you can, or over the phone to avoid coming into the pharmacy if not necessary.
-Please try to get friends and family who are symptom free to collect medicines for you.
-Please understand that we are trying to make these measures to ensure that we are all protected as much as possible from becoming unwell.
-I understand that many of you will have some anxiety over exactly how you will get access to your medications but please be reassured that we have contingency plans in place to make sure that we will be able to get medicines to you if you need them.
