🚂 All aboard the Polar Express! 🚂

We had such a wonderful time, and my 6-year-old is still wrapped up in the magic of Christmas.

Whether at home or nursery, it’s such a privilege to keep that magic alive for little ones 💕

Here’s hoping it lasts a just little longer.

✨ New resource alert for Nursery Practitioners! ✨

Ever noticed toddlers lining up toys, spinning objects, or filling and emptying containers? That’s schematic play – the way little ones explore and make sense of their world.

I’ve created a set of flashcards covering all the key schemas with clear explanations and simple play ideas to use in your setting. Perfect for spotting schemas and planning purposeful play in your Nursery Room as the children are playing.

Little Cub Nurture Hub: Where Specialist Care Meets High-Quality, Impactful Early Years Education.

Babyhood is a unique phase – it requires unique CPD opportunities.

The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2024) highlights the importance of specialised skills and leadership for staff working with under-twos.

Key requirements include:

☑️ Training focused on babies
At least half of the staff caring for children under two must have training specifically addressing baby care. This includes understanding attachment theory, sensory development, and creating nurturing and safe environments to support babies’ unique needs.

☑️ Experienced leadership
The staff member in charge of under-twos must have relevant and sufficient experience, ensuring skilled and confident management of this age group.

☑️1-1 Leadership Coaching
☑️Face-to-Face accredited training, or top ups
☑️Zoom Meetings
☑️Digital Master classes and Downloads

We offer bespoke CPD opportunities designed to equip your staff with the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional care for babies.

As a practising teacher and a parent navigating my own child’s reading journey, I often get asked for advice about how to support reading at home. I know how important it is—and how tricky it can feel!

That’s why I decided to write an introductory guide designed just for parents and carers.

The short guide has ended up being 30 pages long and includes a reflective questionnaire and workbook to support you and your growing one on their reading journey!

This guide is packed with practical tips, insights into how children learn to read, and advice on how to make reading a positive and enjoyable experience.

Whether you’re wondering what reading in KS1 looks like, why it's important to support reading at home, or whether you want to check that you have all the reading bases covered- this is a great start!

This guide will be FREE until Friday 29th November.

Don’t be afraid to use ambitious words with babies and toddlers—here’s why:

1️⃣ They’re Language Sponges
Even little ones absorb and recognise complex words.

2️⃣ It Encourages Brain Development
Rich vocabulary helps form stronger neural connections.

3️⃣ It Lays a Strong Foundation
Early exposure sets them up for confident communication later.

Start big, even with the tiniest learners! 🌱🍼
