🦵🏽GENERAL KNEE PAIN TAPING🦵🏽

This boxer came to me with pain in his right knee and a feeling of weakness and uncomfort when training.

By taping up his knee he said it felt more supported and less uncomfortable and was able to move around a little bit more.

👍🏼KT tape gently lifts the skin from the tissue below and creates a space to improve blood and lymphatic flow which helps to alleviate pressure and reduce swelling! 👍🏼

Being hydrated and drinking lots of water is important in everyday life especially during and after exercise and in rehabilitation

Drinking water has many benefits:
-Regulates body temperature
-lubricates joints
-helps transport nutrients to give you energy
-helps to flush out toxins
-aids digestion
-helps muscle soreness and tension
-helps cartilage repair itself
-helps speed up recovery as it helps thin the blood and move nutrients and oxygen through the body

🦵🏽FOAM ROLLING🦵🏽

-Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release technique.
-Can be used after exercise

-It can help relieve:
-Muscle tightness
-Soreness
-Inflammation
-Increase joint range of motion
-Help you to relax
-Increase in flexibility
-Breaks down scar tissue

DO’S✅
-Start with light pressure and build it up
-Slowly roll over tender areas for 10 seconds then build up to 20/30 seconds
-Drink plenty of water after foam rolling to help with recovery

DONT’S❌
-Roll over small joints such as Elbow, Ankle and Knee
-Avoid rolling if there’s a serious injury such as a muscle break or tear

-There are many different types of foam rollers:
-Smooth rollers
-Textured rollers
-Foam covered massage sticks
-Foam massage balls
