This vaccine is routinely offered in school (usually Year 9).
If you missed it, anyone up to the age of 25 is still eligible via their GP.

We understand there’s currently a lot of interest in the Meningitis B vaccine.

There is no need to panic or rush for vaccination. For most people, this vaccine is given as a course of two doses, spaced at least one month apart.

We expect to have availability in the coming weeks and will be offering scheduled appointments for those who need it.

We are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news emerging from Kent regarding meningitis.

While meningitis infections are rare, they can be devastating. Our thoughts are with those affected and their families.

It’s important to remember that this outbreak is currently localised to the Canterbury area.
People across the North East should not panic, but staying informed is always the best approach.

In 2024, over 2,900 measles cases were confirmed in England, the highest levels seen in decades. As a result, the UK recently lost its World Health Organization measles elimination status.

Childhood vaccination rates remain below the 95% level recommended to help prevent outbreaks.

The good news is that measles is preventable with the MMR vaccine.
