I’ve been to a Su***de Prevention Conference today organised by Every Life Matters. A day full of information, connection, and brave people sharing their experiences; some of being bereaved by su***de, others of being close to su***de themselves. What often helped was friends, family, colleagues, persisting on checking in on them. Let’s all do the same and check in on those we know and love.

Recently I had a visit to my old home town, Otley in West Yorkshire, for a special family celebration. Whilst there I took the chance to go to the top of Otley Chevin (a big hill overlooking the town), to see the Easter cross that is put up there for the Easter period. It’s also a great view over the town and beyond! As a child the cross going up was very exciting - the start of the Easter holidays and 2 weeks off school 🤭😅. As the years have gone by I have had many thoughts and ideas about it, but still my inner child compels me to get up there as I did as a child, every Easter holidays, full of excitement and wonder.

A wonderfully rich time catching up with old friends, peers and colleagues at this weekends conference - Transactional Analysis Cumbria Conference 2026. Met some lovely new folks too and learnt a lot - North Lakes Hotel is such a good venue! Lots of good quality tea breaks! And came away with a list of ideas and actions to do now home…

Had a superb flying visit to the Yorkshire Dales last week, a cold sunny walk from Malham, taking in Janet’s Foss, Gordale Scar and Malham Cove. And a lovely stay at Kettlewell YHA. As a child I was taken to the Dales regularly and thought it so boring, but thankfully now I see it differently 😅😍 Such a tonic! Can’t wait to go back.
