Our first Conscious Cookery & Yoga Retreat was a success! So much so that we’ve launched a new date for September 2026.

One thing that really landed for both of us while facilitating was how much easier it felt to make better choices after the retreat. Choices that truly align the mind, body and soul.

About the Conscious Cookery & Yoga Retreat…
It’s a space to learn how to cook in a conscious, creative and healthy way for yourself. You’ll leave with an array of nourishing recipes that you’ve not only tasted but also learned to prepare yourself, along with a deeper awareness of your body and the food choices that best support it.

There is gentle yoga and meditation twice a day, in the morning and evening, helping you ground and integrate everything you are learning while bringing balance to the more active kitchen sessions. We also include a relaxing massage.

This retreat is a beautiful way to kick start or continue your journey of caring for your health and body. It’s a unique space to support healing in our relationship with food and with self care.

Our next Conscious Cookery & Yoga Retreat is from the 21st-25th September 2026.

Enjoy this amazing restorative yoga shape to open the heart to Spring coming. Cleanse the body with lovely full breaths and allow the shape to nourish the thoracic spine where we can hold tensions.

If the lower back feels uncomfortable raise the lower support or reduce the middle one. If the neck doesn't feel held enough also add more support under here. Enjoy. x

Imbolc is a time of gentle Earth-awakening. With subtlety, yet power, there is a turning of the year, the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox.

In ancient traditions, it was one of the great fire festivals celebrating light, purification, hope, and new beginnings. Imbolc is closely associated with Brigid, a Celtic Goddess of Spring, the guardian of healing, creativity, and sacred flame.

Imbolc rituals are about soft and gentle cleansing and reawakening:

Purification & Renewal

Traditionally, homes and hearths were cleansed at Imbolc. It feels good to clear your space, smudge with incense or herbs, or bathe with intention to release winter and welcome renewal.

Light a candle with intention, or walk to see the sunrise in a special place for you. As you light the candle, or see the sun rise, reflect on what is slowly stirring/rising within you.

Seed blessing or intention planting
Imbolc reminds us that growth begins unseen with the seeds.

Hold some seeds either literal or symbolic. Speak intentions to your seeds. Let go of logic unfolding your intentions and trust that what you plant now will unfold in its own time and way.

Ritual candle making at the turn of the year, supported by the Winter sun.

I love using tealights as eco as i can as we use a lot here at Sunny Brow. This was a great project to recycle used holders and make new. Not bad for a first attempt :)

Vision Boarding

When created in a ceremonial way vision boarding is a great tool to bring through your inner wisdoms into visual form.

As a reflective ritualistic practise we can pause, reconnect, and gently confirm and clarify what we’re moving towards emotionally, spiritually, and practically.
In January it is such an amazing tool to shape how we want to feel and live in the coming year.  A sacred act of art for intention setting, and an honouring of transitions, endings, and new beginnings.

Here at Sunny Brow, we all love vision boarding at the new year. And it’s also is included on our ‘New Year New True You’ January retreats if you wish to join us..

One room left on our weekend 9th – 12th January 2026
Spaces on 12th – 16th January 2026

A restorative yoga sequence for winter evenings. The space around festive activities can be a great time to take time for some restorative yoga. Hold each pose for a few minutes with lovely long exhalations to relax and unwind.

Hawthorn Tea...

I love this amazing plant medicine, as she is a gentle heart opener, with protection, and an ancient lineage supporting sacred Earth connection. We have so many of these sacred trees here at Sunny Brow. I always do my best to harvest with gratitude and permission. She is juicier and sweeter after the first frost.

Hawthorn carries deep symbolism in ceremony, especially in British, and European traditions. She has been called the Heart Tree. Spiritually and energetically, she supports both emotional healing of the heart (physically she helps circulation), and boundaries (she has very spiky branches), helping us to open our heart without losing our protection.

In Celtic tradition, hawthorn marks liminal spaces, thresholds between worlds, seasons, or life stages. Ceremonies involving hawthorn honour transitions, new beginnings, endings, or moments of deep inner change.
In all this richness she serves us beautifully in our opening ceremony as part of our Samhain Yoga Medicine retreats, gently stepping us through the threshold and opening our hearts into the gifts of the retreat.

I always offer the pulp and seeds back to the earth after making the tea.

Recipe
1 tbsp hawthorn berries per cup
Simmer for 10 minutes and serve

Red Thread Mother and Daughter Retreat

One room left for our December mother and daughter retreat.. could this be for you and your daughter (ages for the daughters on this retreat is 9 – 16) ?

The essence for this retreat is that of deepening connection between mothers and daughters, and opening to any joy, strength, and also healing, through the ancestral lineages.

The red thread, in many ancient cultures, is a symbol of connection. It is symbolic of the invisible yet powerful bond that links us to others, to our ancestors, and to our own truth.

In ceremony, it often represents sisterhood, and for this retreat of the bond between a mother and daughter, and the female community that has gathered.
In this there can be a reminder that even when life is challenging, we remain connected by love, lineage, and shared purpose.

Red is the colour of life, vitality, and blood, the primal flow that nourishes and sustains us. Working with the red thread we can be with the blood and energetic lines within the female body, reawaken creative flow, and strengthening connection to Mother Earth and our feminine power.

Our Red Thread retreat is a ceremony of connection to self, to others, our lineages, and to the invisible web of life. It will weave intention, remembrance, and love into something tangible. The ceremony can remind us that the flow of ups and downs in life happens to each of us, and we can learn together.

Our Autumn Equinox Mandala

We gathered ferns, acorns, stones, apples from our orchard flowers, and feathers, with love. We began to craft in mindful presence.

We created it as an offering of gratitude to the land at Sunny Brow, Mother Earth, the elements, the unseen realms, and the ancestors.

We asked for support, wisdom and guidance for all of us who were to gather for the retreat.

The circular pattern of our mandala mirrored the cycles of life, seasons, moon phases, breath, and the wheel of time.

We invited in a remembering of balance at Autumn Equinox, of the sacredness of Mother Earth, and the beauty, harmony and abundance around us.

Once the retreat was complete, the mandala was given back to the elements. We connected to the impermanent nature of reality. And said goodbye with an open heart and gratitude.
