From diggers and dust to one of the most inspiring places to work in the Lakes.

These before-and-after photos are a little reminder of how far Kelsick Grammar has come - from installing our living roof (now beautifully settled into the landscape), to opening up the front of the building with those big glass windows that soak up the view and bringing our Assembly Room back to life.

Are your leadership team looking for somewhere to spark ideas and chat strategy? We recently welcomed Michael McGregor - Director of Wordsworth Trust and his team to our Loughrigg meeting room and here's what he had to say about their visit.

“We use Kelsick Grammar’s Loughrigg Room for our senior management away days at Wordsworth Grasmere, and it’s such a great space for us. It’s close enough to be really convenient, but gives us that bit of distance from site which helps us properly step back, think clearly and focus on strategy.

The room is spacious, comfortable and really well equipped, and the views are just incredible. What really makes the experience though is the team - they’re always so welcoming, helpful and attentive. Everything, from the facilities to the catering, is high quality and thoughtfully done.”

You're invited to Impact Aid’s first ever Spring Bop! 💃 A feel-good evening of live music, food and fundraising - all in support of a brilliant local cause.

Join us at Ambleside Parish Centre on Saturday 16th May 2026 from 7pm for live music from fantastic local band - Common Ground. The bar will be open all night plus there will be a pizza van and raffle prizes to be won throughout the night!

Dress Code: Dancing Shoes 💃🪩🕺

Kelsick Grammar is open tomorrow (Thursday 2nd) as normal and again on Tuesday 5th April for meetings and hot desk hire.

“This event reinforced something I’ve known from the start: hospice care is not only about clinical support - it’s about relationships, education, presence and community. It’s about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and less alone.”

Last week, Kathyann Waple, Head of Digital Transformation at Impact, was invited to join St Mary's Hospice at Holker Hall & Gardens for a special gathering hosted by Lucy Cavendish to thank the many individuals and organisations who help make their work possible.

We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with St Mary’s Hospice here at Kelsick Grammar and of being part of something that brings support, education and connection closer to people across our community.

Through this partnership, Kelsick Grammar has become a space for community education, learning and support - helping create more opportunities for people to come together, build understanding and access compassionate care in the heart of the South Lakes.

It was also a powerful reminder that hospices rely so heavily on community support. St Mary’s Hospice receives only 17% of its funding from government sources, with the rest made possible through fundraising, donations and the generosity of supporters, partners and local people.

Thank you to St Mary’s Hospice for the meaningful work you do every day 🫶
