We had the most heartwarming time at the Speen Festival Memory Cafe yesterday! 🎶 Tea, music, and the power of singing for the soul brought everyone together.🥰

A massive thank you to our brilliant Trainer Susie, who entertained our audience with her singing! It was beautiful to see everyone join in.

As September is World Alzheimer's Month, these memory cafes are more important than ever – raising awareness and strengthening community bonds.

🌸 A Very Special Celebration 🌸

Today we celebrate the wonderful Alice as she begins her well-earned retirement. At 80 years young, Alice has only just decided to step back from her care work with Ashridge — proof of her amazing dedication and energy. 💙

Alice was one of our very first carers when we started in 2017, and she’s worked with Trudi for more than 13 years. Over that time, she’s supported clients as both a live-in and visiting carer, always with kindness, compassion, and a smile that made everyone feel at ease.

She’s been loved by her clients and by all of us here at Ashridge. Alice has been a shining example of what it means to care from the heart.
Alice, thank you for everything. 🥰 We’ll miss you dearly, but we hope you enjoy every moment of your retirement — and come visit anytime! 🌷

What a joy to be part of this year’s . It was wonderful to see our town alive with neighbours and friends from across Buckinghamshire coming together to celebrate everything that makes our community special. 💙

Heritage is about more than history — it’s about reflecting on how we care for it today and passing it on in the best possible shape to future generations. For us at Ashridge, that also means honouring and learning from our elderly community, whose stories and experiences keep our heritage alive.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, the fantastic volunteers, and the Amersham Town Council team for making the day such a success. Events like these remind us just how strong and connected our community truly is.😊

Heads up! UK-wide Emergency Alert test tomorrow!

On Sunday, September 7, at 3 p.m., the UK government will be testing a new Emergency Alerts system on all mobile phones and tablets. This test is happening to make sure the system works correctly in a real emergency, like a severe flood or wildfire.

When the alert goes off, your phone will sound a loud, siren-like alarm and vibrate for about 10 seconds. A message will appear on your screen confirming that this is only a test. You don't need to do anything at all.

Please help spread the word so your friends and family—especially older loved ones—aren't caught off guard. Knowing what to expect will help prevent any confusion or worry.🙏😊
