📢 MenB Vaccine – Were YOU Ever Offered It?

The MenB (meningococcal B) vaccine was added to the routine NHS childhood vaccination schedule from 1 September 2015.

This means it has only been routinely offered to babies born on or after 1 May 2015.

👉 If you were born before May 2015, you would not have been offered the MenB vaccine on the NHS, unless you had it privately. Private clinics do offer it, but at a cost.

There have been no catch up programmes for the MenB vaccination.

📣 Patient Update: MenB Outbreak in Kent

We know many of you may be feeling worried after reports of a Meningitis B (MenB) outbreak in the Canterbury area of Kent. Health authorities have confirmed several cases, mainly linked to students and close contacts in the local area.

At this time, the NHS has not asked GP practices to offer catch‑up MenB vaccinations, and there are no changes to the national vaccination programme.

If you are interested in the MenB vaccine, some pharmacies or private providers may be able to offer this, so please contact them directly for availability.

We are keeping a close eye on all updates from NHS England and UKHSA. If national guidance changes or additional vaccination programmes are introduced, we will update you immediately.

📱 Using Anima – a quick tip

When you submit a request on Anima, you’ll be asked some structured questions first. These help our clinicians assess your request safely.

✅ Please keep going to the end – there is a free‑text box where you can explain your problem in your own words and add any extra details.

If the questions don’t seem to fit your issue exactly, don’t worry – just tell us more in the free‑text section.

Completing the questionnaire fully helps us get you the right care more quickly and reduces the need to call the practice.

☎️ If you do not have access to the internet, our reception team can help in completing your request.

Thank you for your patience 💙

🌟 A Little Reminder When Calling Reception 🌟

To help us support you as quickly and safely as possible, our reception team will ask a short set of questions before putting your request onto the Anima system.

These questions help ensure your concern is sent to the right clinician and completed in a timely manner.

👉 Please answer the questions simply and directly.
For example, if you’re asked:
“On a scale of 1–5, how much is this affecting you?”
Just reply with the number — no extra detail needed.

💻 If you’re able to, please submit your request yourself online through our website or the Anima app.
This helps keep our phone lines free for those who can’t access online services and may need extra support.

💬 Our reception team is here to help, not to pry. They follow a set process to make sure everyone receives the right care as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your kindness, patience, and cooperation 💙
Together we can keep things running smoothly for all our patients.

With thanks
Barcroft
