🎉 Over 1,000 Anima Requests Completed! 🎉

Since launching Anima on 20th January 2026, more than 1,000 patient requests have already been submitted through the system 🙌

Patients have been receiving:
✔️ Same‑day GP advice
✔️ Booking links for routine appointments
✔️ Faster, clearer responses

If you’re able to, please submit your requests online via Anima rather than calling the practice. This helps us manage demand more efficiently and ensures those who truly need to phone, such as patients without internet access, can get through more easily.

Dear Patients,

The system has been stable since our last post so we are fully operational again, with our new Anima system you are still able to submit requests to us in the event of the our clinical system crashing like they did today. The GP's will review these when our network comes back up.

PATIENT NOTICE

We have been experiencing significant IT issues this afternoon, this has been affecting multiple surgeries across the county.
It has affected our clinical systems, telephones, appointment systems. However patients have still been able to submit an Anima request.
We are currently back up and running however are keeping an eye on things. Please be patient while we work through any backlog of calls.

📢 Important Patient Notice – Respect for Our Reception Team

We understand that the recent changes to our appointment system, including the move to Anima, may take some getting used to. Our team is here to help guide you through the process and ensure you receive the care you need.

However, we must remind all patients that abusive or aggressive behaviour towards our reception staff will not be tolerated. Our reception team works incredibly hard to support our community, and they deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect at all times.

We kindly ask for your patience during this period of adjustment. If you are finding the new system difficult to use, please let us know, our staff are more than happy to assist you.

We’re excited to announce that Anima will be going live at Barcroft Medical Practice tomorrow! 🎉

From 20th January, please submit any requests for an appointment via Anima.

Anima can be used to request:

✔ GP appointments
✔ Sick Notes
✔ Medication requests

Our Reception team is still available for patients who are unable to use Anima or need additional support.

As we go live with Anima on 20th January 2026, we want to reassure all our patients that you can continue to request your repeat prescriptions in the usual way.

💊 Repeat prescriptions can still be requested via:

NHS App
SystmOnline
Your usual repeat request method

If you prefer, you can also request your repeat medication through Anima once it launches.

We hope Anima will make accessing our services even easier, but all existing prescription routes will remain available.
