Wouldn't be the start of the festive season without a wee trip to the Hiller Garden Centre in Weyhill!! Abbey Nursing Home residents really enjoyed seeing this year's displays and colours and of course, undertaking a little retail therapy!

An absolutley wonderful evening of music at Sutton Manor last Friday, care of the very talented Saffron Strings. The ladies played a really varied repertoire; all introduced with a little history about the composer or the piece. The atmosphere was amazing with masses of candles twinkling away and in the interval Bernie treated the audience, made up of residents and family members, to fizz and delicious canapes care of Yvonne. At the end the ladies were so kind and stayed to chat with the residents all of whom found the whole event terribly moving and evocative. Huge thanks to Jo for masterminding everything and all who went the extra mile to make the night so special.

We were delighted to deliver the Manor's Harvest Festival collection to local charity, Wincehster Beacon, yesterday. The team gladly receieved a fantastic quantity of food items plus cash and cheque donations from our wonderful staff and residents. The charity said they were extremely grateful as it is these kindnesses that allow them to keep their doors open and continue to enable them to help vulnerable people out of homelessness and in times of emergency with food parcels. Feels great to be able to help our local community. https://winchesterbeacon.org.uk/

A very relaxing and therapuetic afternoon of art in many forms at Sutton Manor earlier this week. There were acrylics, felt tips and water colours on the go, and some incredible results, including the most wonderful still life of pink cosmos.

This evening at the Abbey we've also had a great turn out for the October Richmond Arts Society lecture, "Scandal, Spite and Shuttlecocks: Wentworth Woodhouse". What a brilliant story and what a great lecturer David Winpenny is. Residents are thoroughly enjoying themselves!
