Banded walks (crabbing and robot walks), are a fantastic way to improve the muscular conditioning of the hip muscles. The multidirectional steps means that most the muscles groups are effectively worked.

This is ideal for strength, control and conditioning of the area.

This may lead to less pain from muscle and tendon issues, as well as in time lessening earlier arthritic joint pain. Also stronger muscles may actually help reduce muscle tightness in the long run and have some preservative effects on degeneration.

Here is a set of exercises that I have put together for a patient who needs to work with lower extremity strength, stability and control post a stroke.

These are early stage exercises working from easier to more difficult. As part of a rehab program, exercises like this are essential as they can be done easily at home.

If anybody is needing to contact the clinic for any matter, please either email via the website www.ingramosteopaths.com/contact or call the office on 01264334723. Unfortunately earlier today both my phone and wallet were stolen from work by an unknown man who used distraction techniques to misdirect me for a moment allowing him to take the items. It was not until a short while later that I noticed this had happened. As such I may be slower to respond than normal to messages.

Hopefully everything will be up and running as normal in the next day or two.
