We would like to say a huge congratulations to Shenstone School who wrapped up a fantastic term of Quality Mark awards by achieving their very well deserved Centre of Excellence! 🥇

Shenstone School are a shining example of how MOVE can be embedded throughout all areas of the learning day, where independence is promoted at every opportunity leading to some amazing outcomes for all children.

As MOVE Coordinator’s Claire and Judit’s brilliant knowledge and passion have ensured Shenstone’s MOVE provision is delivered to a very high standard and their expertise has also been able to support other MOVE settings in the local area.

A huge congratulations to Calthorpe Academy who have also achieved their Gold Quality Mark! 🥇

Driven by Gareth, Calthorpe’s dedicated MOVE Coordinator, the team continue to make amazing progress with embedding MOVE into all areas of the curriculum. A whole school approach has truly been adopted at Calthorpe with every pupil working towards personal and meaningful MOVE goals! A thoroughly well deserved award. We have loved carrying out lots of fantastic Quality Mark Assessments ahead of the summer break, and we would like to say a huge congratulations today to Princes Primary School who have achieved their Gold Quality Mark! 🥇

Princes Primary School live and breathe all things MOVE, and are passionate about ensuring this continues outside of school where they have supported pupils to practice their MOVE skills through exciting opportunities including horse riding and water skiing!

The dedicated MOVE Team also continues to provide tailored support to their families leading to some amazing outcomes for all. 🤩

We can’t wait to see Princes Primary School continue to fly on their MOVE journey! Well done!

Our Story

MOVE Europe is a UK based charity that works tirelessly to ensure profoundly disabled young people get the chance to live healthy and happy lives. Our charity was founded in 1997 after a team of professionals visited the USA and saw the amazing outcomes of the MOVE Programme for disabled children there. They realised there was a huge amount to do back in the UK to provide disabled children with more opportunities and a better quality of life.

Our charity’s aim is to offer movement opportunities to disabled young people, enabling them to access the world around them. We currently work with 115 special schools across the UK and also work in some areas of Europe, training hundreds of education and therapy professionals every year in the MOVE Programme.

The MOVE Programme is an activity based practice that enables disabled young people to gain independent movement. It uses the combined approach of education, therapy and family knowledge to teach the skills of sitting, standing, walking and transitioning between. Gaining these vital movement skills has life-changing outcomes for the 1,050 disabled young people who are using the MOVE Programme.
