My Positive Health Using 40+ years health and wellness experience and learning to help others enjoy better wellbeing

I started Nursing when I was 18 years old, and have spent the rest of my life learning all about health and wellness. I like to use as much of what i've learned over those 40 + years to help others. I combine traditional health with complimentary therapies to effect holistic and individual support.

Beautiful words as ever from this wonderful writer ❤️

For many, January is a hard, cold month…

When everyone is setting new goals, laying down righteous ground rules and striving to become a better version of themselves, some of us are fighting to find our feet each day...

You see, December is a month of giving, and some of us, come January, are completely and utterly spent.

A month of remembering everyone, and remembering absolutely everything.

A month of including everyone and of reaching out to each and every person we have ever known.

A month of reaching breaking point every day trying to have fun, to be the ultimate hostess, to be the perfect guest.

A month of stretching ourselves financially, emotionally and of letting our boundaries be breached by many... in the spirit of the season.

And then January hits and bam... before we can even begin the arduous task of clearing away the festivities, we are expected to jump on the ‘new year, new you’ bandwagon and transform ourselves entirely.

For some of us this is just too much.

January is the darkest and most depressing month of the year and for many sensitive souls, the barrage of ‘advice’ on how we ‘should’ be living, is just too much.

So perhaps this is a safe place to say that maybe it’s okay to take a week or two to recover and to just be kind to ourselves before demanding better.

And for those of us who really do fall low in the darkest month of the year. For those of us who have given too much and to whom the future looks bleak - perhaps this is the right place to say - you are absolutely fine the way you are. Just stay.

Take some time to breathe.

Take some time to not think about anything much at all except breathing in and breathing out.

Take some time to build back up, not tear your yourself down.

For many, this month is a mountain that looks unclimbable.

Be kind, my friends. Always.

Do you enjoy writing?

We are starting a NEW group called Writing 4 Wellbeing, because we know how much being creative enhances our sense of wellness. It will bring together a small group of people who have enthusiasm and positive energy to share, so that we can all grow and learn more about writing and it's many benefits.

So if you've dabbled in a short story, written a Blog, or wrote a poem or two, this is a great way of developing your interest, expanding your repertoire, and supporting others in their journey too.

We'll look at different themes and styles, be a supportive sounding board for each other, discuss platforms for our work, and maybe in due course publish an anthology of our wellbeing journey through our work!

The group will be led by Cheryl & Mandy, who have experience of running a writing group and having some of their work published. However the experience will be directed by the group itself and other contributors will be encouraged.

If you know anyone who may be interested in joining the group, please let them know about us, we are inclusive, and we will make every effort to accommodate everyone, our location is accessible to wheelchair users.

The group will be on Tuesday afternoon's on a monthly basis at Warner's Gym, 80 -86 Pickering Rd, HU4 6TE, where there's plenty of parking , including disabled parking.

Contact by calling and registering 07935 392965 or by contacting me via the page messaging.

Kind Regards

Cheryl

About me...

Hi I’m Cheryl. I started my Nurse training 38 years ago, tomorrow actually. I ‘ve been learning about health & wellbeing ever since. It’s a thing I have, learning things, I just can’t stop doing different courses..

I realised a long time ago that traditional medicine needs to be supported with complimentary therapies in order to get the best results, and being in the right frame of mind keeps you healthy and everything else in balance.

I am on 2 parts of the Nursing & Midwifery Council register, and on the General Hypnotherapist Register, a member of the Royal College of Nursing and I maintain my continuing development by learning, networking , and professional forum involvement.

Well you can see by the services I provide some of the things I have learned, and I hope that you will seek the benefit of my experience and knowledge. If I don’t know how to help you directly, I am sure that I can point you to the right source of support and information with the networks I have formed over the years I’ve spent in healthcare.
