Last Tuesday we said a very fond farewell to Ashley, our Senior Health Care Assistant after 30 years in healthcare and a remarkable 22 years here at the surgery. We wish Ashley a very happy and wonderful retirement, not just from the team here but from all of the patients she has cared for so diligently throughout her career.

There appears to be an intermittent fault on the phones at present. We've reported this to our provider but it may well be an external issue and outside of our control. If we promised to call you back today, please know we are trying our best and will get to you as soon as we are able.
We are also currently using the two Practice mobile phones. If you get a call from someone saying they are from the Doctor's, feel free to verify their identity by asking them to confirm one of your personal details, for example, your address and date of birth or medication you regularly take......they won't be offended.

Dear Patients,
I am appalled that I need to need to write this post in a town like Annan.
I can not stress strongly enough that NONE of my team should be subjected to any form of abuse from anyone.
We have a zero tolerance policy and verbal and/or physical abuse will not be accepted under any circumstances. Patients who are unable to control themselves will be asked to leave our practice and register elsewhere. If you are unable to behave in a civilised manner we will not be able to help you.

In June a massive 130 patients failed to attend their appointments either in person or by telephone but didn't bother to cancel. That means 130 other patients had to wait longer to get help with a health concern. Patients often complain about appointment availability - this is a big cause of the problem.
Help us to help you. If you can't attend an appointment - tell us.

During May, 126 patients failed to attend either a face-to-face or telephone appointments with us.
That is 126 times other patients were prevented from getting the medical help and advice they need earlier.
If you have an appointment and can't attend or don't need it - let us know so we can offer it to someone else.

We are extremely busy at present. Please follow the below guidance and if you still need us, the quickest and easiest way is by completing an e-Consult at you convenience (it's on-line 24/7). A doctor will usually answer on the same day but always within 48 hours.
Remember, the pharmacist can also help you, without appointment and free of charge for many common minor ailments such as upset tummies, aches and pains and coughs.
Please only order prescriptions after 12 midday. It's much faster for you and keeps the lines open from 08:00 - 12:00 for those who need urgent help and support.
