✨ Clinic Refurb Update ✨

From painting walls, tiling, flooring and building projects – you name it, it’s been done!! Most of the DIY is now complete, and it’s almost time to move everything in and turn this space into the West End Foot Clinic.

This week has been full on, and I’ve done most of it myself (with a little help here and there – very much appreciated ❤️). On reflection, there’s something really special about being able to say, “I did that.”

It’s a proud moment opening your own business, and an even prouder one having your own premises – no matter how big or small. Never let anyone dull that sparkle ✨

See you very soon – West End Foot Clinic opens Tuesday 30th September! 🎉

Why foot health matters if you live with diabetes👇

Diabetes can reduce circulation and damage the nerves in your feet. That means you might not feel injuries, and healing can take much longer.

The ulcer shown here took over a year to shrink because it was on a pressure point. With constant care, dressings, and offloading, it’s healing — but without attention, the outcome could have been very different.

If you live with diabetes:
✔️ Check your feet daily
✔️ Don’t ignore changes
✔️ Get help early

Your feet tell a story — prevention is always better than cure🙌

Sorry for the lack of foot chat this week… my focus has been completely on the new clinic and getting it up and running for all my wonderful patients. It feels like my job title has temporarily expanded to painter, decorator, joiner and tiler 🙃 Safe to say it’s been full-on, but so worth it seeing it all come together.

Here’s a throwback to just a couple of weeks ago when I was chilled and relaxed — it honestly feels like a lifetime ago now! Fast-forward to today and I’m covered in paint, juggling tools I didn’t even know the names of, and running about like a headless chicken.

It’s a lot of fun and games behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to show you the finished space soon ✨

Love,
Emma Jo x

Today’s been a day of reflection ✨

After packing up the last boxes at West End Foot Clinic, ready for our move to Number 1 Crow Road, Glasgow, it hit me… I’m about to step into my dream. To think there was a time I didn’t even want to be here — and now I’m securing my own unit.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: never give up. Life will test you, break you, and rebuild you — but if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. I’m living proof of that.

Tonight, I can honestly say I’m proud of myself. No one can ever take away the light that comes from hard work, resilience, and faith.

Thank you to my patients, my family, and my closest friends. Without you, none of this would be possible. This dream might be small to some, but to me it’s everything🥹❤️

Love,
Emma Jo x

Are your feet a turn off? Dry, hard and cracked heels aren’t just a cosmetic thing — they happen when the skin loses hydration and builds up thickened layers to protect itself. The result? Rough, uncomfortable, and less-than-cute feet.Hydration 💦 is everything. When the skin on your feet is properly nourished, it stays softer, smoother, and far more resilient. That’s where Thirsty comes in. The foot balm designed to quench dry skin, lock in moisture, and bring your feet back to life.Cool, fresh, and game-changing. Thirsty isn’t just another balm — it’s the one your feet have been waiting for 🙌

Healthy feet = happy kids (which means happy parents 😂)Here’s what to keep in mind as little ones grow:– Flat feet are often normal up to age 6–7.– In-toeing or out-toeing usually improves as they develop.– Occasional tripping is part of learning coordination. The game-changer? Shoes. Well-fitting, supportive footwear helps guide natural development and prevents problems later on. Think flexible soles, secure fastenings, and enough room for growing toes.Strong foundations start young—look after their feet and the rest will follow❤️

Morton’s Neuroma — shown here on Frank🦶

Think burning under the ball of your foot, tingling toes, or that annoying pebble-in-your-shoe feeling.

What helps? Supportive shoes, insoles, tweaking activity, and the right rehab🙌

If it keeps coming back or starts holding you back, that’s when it’s time to get it checked.

✨ Diabetic feet need extra love + attention ✨Did you know that if you’re living with diabetes, your feet can be more vulnerable than you think? High blood sugar over time can reduce circulation and damage nerves — meaning you might lose sensitivity in your feet. Little things like a blister, cut, or ingrown nail might go unnoticed… and that can turn into something much bigger if left untreated. That’s why it’s SO important to:✔️ Check your feet regularly✔️ Keep on top of things like nail care (by a professional if needed)✔️ Seek help quickly if something feels “off”Your feet carry you everywhere — they deserve VIP care ❤️ If you’re diabetic, think of professional foot care as part of your health toolkit, not just a treat!

Plantar plate injuries don’t get enough airtime, but they’re a big reason people get pain under the ball of the foot. The plantar plate is a tough little ligament that keeps your toes stable — and when it tears or strains, things start to shift. What you might notice:– Sharp pain or swelling under the ball of the foot– A “walking on a pebble” sensation– Toes starting to drift or feel unstable– Pain that kicks in when barefoot or in flexible shoesEarly diagnosis is key. The sooner it’s spotted, the easier it is to manage and keep you moving 🙌
