Some GP practices are taking part in a Protected Learning Time session on Wednesday 18 June between 1pm and 6pm.

Practices take part in a number of sessions throughout the year to allow staff to access training. During this time:
▶️ patients requiring urgent care should call: 01592 729 250
▶️ those with appointments should attend unless advised otherwise
▶️ pharmacies should call: 01592 729250 for urgent enquiries

Access to urgent care for patients of surgeries taking part will continue throughout this time.

𝗔𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗯

In January, following several meetings and almost three years of lobbying, it was recommended that a Post Office operated Cash Hub should be installed in Anstruther. Since then, I have been working with Cash Access UK to find a suitable location. Having discussed this with my fellow trustees at the East Neuk Centre Trust, it was agreed that the Lower Town Hall in Anstruther could be used and I’m pleased to announce that it will open from tomorrow.

The new Cash Hub will operate Monday to Friday between 09:00 & 17:00 and offer the following services:

- Depositing of money & cheques
- Withdrawal of cash
- Checking balances
- Paying utility bills
- Top-up gas & electricity
- Access to a change giving service for small businesses

For services such as sending parcels or buying stamps, residents will have to continue using the Post Office in Pittenweem or the Post Office Van.

This Cash Hub will initially operate for a period of two years and if it is successful, it will be made more permanent so I’d urge everyone to use it as much as possible.

No one likes being unwell over the festive season, but a little preparation can stop illness from spoiling any fun. Being prepared for winter not only helps you and your loved ones, but helps the NHS too.

Here are some of the main things you can do to prepare for winter.

🟢 Stock up on over-the-counter remedies for common seasonal illnesses, such as cold and flu remedies and medicines for stomach bugs.
🟢 Order only what you need for your prescription medication in plenty of time.
🟢 Visit NHS Inform for self-help guides if you have a minor health condition, such as cough, sore throat or the flu.
🟢 Check when your GP and pharmacy are open over the festive season.
