All the staff and GPs want to wish Elaine, our wonderful receptionist and friend a long and happy retirement from Oriel Surgery on 17th December 2025. Elaine has been with us for 17.5 years and has been an amazing support to patients, GPs and colleagues alike. Although we are really sorry to see her go, we really hope retirement will bring her joy and peace and lots of time to do things for herself. It has been an absolute privilege to work with Elaine, and she will always be part of Team Oriel xx

Hi everyone, I just want to share more news on our darlin wee Brenda. I am a great fan of a Hallmark Christmas movie, often a sad story, a bit of drama in the middle and a happy ending, I usually get lost in the fantasy of them, these things never happen in real life!
Well, actually….Christmas miracles do happen and sometimes the real life stories are better than the Christmas movies. Still waiting for a rehab bed, (Santa if u are listening, see if u can bump her up the list, she deserves it more than most) but I think I will let this photo speak for itself. I know there are so many of you who will be so glad to see these beautiful pictures x

Just a wee update on Brenda, and thank you to everyone who has been praying and asking after her, she has come on leaps and bounds over the last week or 2 and she is fully conscious and talking and cuddling her beautiful wee baby boy, she is so thankful for all the support, as are her family and her oriel family Keep Brenda in your prayers on the journey of recovery ahead of her xx

On behalf of Brenda’s family and all of us in her Oriel family we want to thank everyone for the kind words and prayers, she is still a very sick wee girl but has made some positive signs including spending time with baby Liam and starting to wean off her sedation and oxygen. She knew he was there, it was very emotional but she’s still a very sick wee girl and needs our prayers and positivity . We all believe the prayer and positivity sent Brenda’s way has been part of this journey. She will have a very long recovery ahead of her and it will be tough for her wee family. They would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the family’s go fund me page.
