What do you think is your greatest strength?

Maybe it’s your kindness, your creativity, your ability to keep going when things are tough… or something quiet and steady, like the way you always notice when someone needs a little support.

And if you’re not sure what your greatest strength is right now, that’s okay. When we’re feeling stressed or a bit too hard on ourselves, it can be tricky to see the good stuff clearly.

So here’s a little trick..imagine asking your best friend, someone who knows you well and cares about you…imagine asking them what they say is your greatest strength? What do they admire in you?

Sometimes seeing ourselves through someone else’s loving eyes can help us reconnect with the parts of ourselves we’ve forgotten for a moment.

Friday the 13th: Superstition, Fear & Self-Fulfilling Prophecies 🖤

Why is Friday the 13th seen as unlucky?
The superstition dates back centuries combining two symbols long associated with bad luck, the number 13 which is seen as ‘unlucky’ in quite a few cultures and some cultures considered Friday an unlucky day to begin a journey or make big decisions. Nowadays certain movies joined in with the idea of Friday 13th being a less than auspicious day!

But here’s a weird thing about us humans, when we expect something to go wrong, we tend to notice the things that confirm our preconceived ideas. We notice the negatives when we expect things to be negative.

🔍 Psychologists call this a self-fulfilling prophecy, when our expectations shape how we feel, what we notice, and even how we behave.

So is Friday the 13th really unlucky? Or is it more likely that we’re just anxious in advance?

If you feel yourself being jittery about today maybe pause and ask yourself
💙What else might be possible today, if I wasn’t looking for the worst?

Sometimes, the scariest thing about Friday the 13th… is the story we tell ourselves about it.
