HEADS UP : Health Education on Alcohol Drugs & Substances

Officers from Antrim & Newtownabbey District Support Team have been conducting a proactive drugs operation with the assistance of the Probabtion Development Unit.

As a result, approximately 4000 tablets of suspected Class A and Class C controlled substances and an amount of Class B have been seized. Two individuals are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing enquiries.

Your Local Policing Teams, District Support Teams and Neighbourhood Teams will continue to tackle drug related criminality within the Antrim and Newtownabbey area.

On Wednesday William was in Doagh Primary School with the Heads Up Schools Programme.

Pupils learnt the dangers of illegal drugs, alcohol awareness, lethal highs, solvent abuse, va**ng and prescription abuse.

Some local Glengormley businesses getting it hard at the moment with young ones messing about in their stores.

But other parks and areas have been good recently. William and Sam were in V36 and those skateboarders are so talented. The tricks they can do are amazing!

Today we were out in Monkstown with Exceptional Education. This is week 2 of 2 talking about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Young people today took part in the activities with the vision impairment goggles on playing hockey cones, bat the ball, velcro catch and our substance kit.

What a great group of people and some brilliant conversations.
