It’s tempting to just ‘add a wee bit more’ but, it doesn’t take much to veer into weird territory.

When I say no to a treatment, I’m not being mean or unreasonable.

I want you to trust that this is a journey.

I want to respect your natural anatomy and keep you looking as fresh and beautiful as possible.

Over done isn’t natural or beautiful.

Thursday saw me down in Newry to visit one of our registered pharmacies supplying aesthetic products.

Some lovely products ordered - including the Croma Revitalis skin booster, my all time favourite SPF 50 and the absolute essential Teoxane aftercare cream.

I’ll post some more information on the Revitalis product this coming week - it’ll be a game changer for lipstick lines!

Training in action!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with a ‘new to me’ dermal filler and skin booster range -

Lipstick lines remain a huge pain in the derrière to treat! Filler is tempting but runs the risk of leaving a patient looking like Marge Simpson.

Not a good result!

However, a little bit of lip support together with skin rejuvenation can give a wonderfully natural result.

Second treatment due in 3 weeks - I can’t wait to see how much fresher this area will look!

Starting a new series today - red flags as an aesthetic injector 🚩

First up is when other injectors claim to be ‘Harley Street’ trained.

Harley Street is renowned for being the area in London for high end doctor services.

However, anyone can rent a room in this area, so having aesthetic training here doesn’t signify any kind of special expertise or a higher level of training education.

Have you noticed looser skin as you’ve gotten older? Maybe deeper wrinkles that weren’t there a year ago?

The truth is, as we age, we are losing VOLUME in all layers of the face.

BONE - have you noticed a droop in your eyebrow, or your nose tip? All due to bone resorption. And the bone provides the framework for the overlying tissue.

MUSCLES - repetitive contraction of muscles, resulting in superficial and deep lines and wrinkles. Lipstick lines are often more obvious as the muscle is closely attached to the overlying skin.

FAT - fat in the face is good! We have lots of fat compartments throughout the face in youth, which are smoothly arranged. They become disrupted as we age, with the fat pads both losing volume and repositioning. Resulting in hollowed out areas and jowling.

SKIN - with all this underlying volume loss and repositioning, the skin doesn’t have the same support as it once did. Add to this elasticity and collagen loss, sun damage and the natural passage of time and we’re left with thinner skin, rough texture, deep lines and discolourations.

Ageing will come to us all, but there are ways and means to delay it slightly.
