Separation Anxiety
Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is an intense fear of being apart from a loved one or caregiver. It can affect children, adolescents, and adults.
Sometimes, we struggle to understand why we, or someone we care about, feel or behave a certain way. We might not know how to express ourselves using words, or it might just feel too difficult. Sometimes, we simply don’t know why we feel the way we do.
Feelings and emotions can be so deep-rooted that we struggle to bring them to the surface. We might prefer to keep them hidden away rather than face them. But even when buried, they tend to make their presence known. This can lead to symptoms such as:
Nausea
Headaches
Fatigue
Bedwetting
Avoidance of school or work
Tummy aches..and more.
Drawing and Talking is an amazing, person-centred, safe, and non-intrusive therapeutic intervention designed to support individuals, young and old, in processing these deep-rooted emotions.
Using just a pencil and paper, and within a very safe and supportive space, we can gently access the subconscious. This taps into the creative, right side of the brain, allowing feelings such as hurt, trauma, fear, and anxiety to be expressed. From here, the logical, left side of the brain 🧠 can begin to understand and process these emotions, often leading to healing, greater confidence, and a more content, happy life.
If you'd like to find out more about how Drawing and Talking can support you, a loved one, or the children, teens, or adults in your school or organisation, please feel free to pop me a message.
