Finals Day

Well that's it for another season. A big thank you to everyone who showed up. Another good turnout with 51 singles and 25 doubles. Also a big thank you to everyone who helped setup on the morning and to everyone who helped out with running the day. Another big thank you tho John and Sean and the rest of the staff at the Portcullis for keeping everyone well hydrated.

So the end is now very nigh, Saturday sees Finals Day take place in the Portcullis.
I will be there from roughly 11:00 till 12:45 for the purpose of registration, if all goes to plan it will be a 1pm start(ish). Singles entries are £2/player and doubles also £2/player(£4).
The day will kick off with the Doubles being played down to a semi final, then the Singles down to a semi final.
The running format thereafter will be

Singles
Then the finals shall be played.

Many thanks to all that attended the Mike Elder Memorial Seeded Doubles last night.
There were 21 doubles in total. The event was somehow won by myself and Ant Brachi, appropriately from Letham, and the runners up were Dale Riddell and Scott Strachan. All finalists gave their winnings towards the pot for Lindsay's charity and there was also a much appreciated donation of £75 from the venue itself, many thanks to Marc, Ryan and all at Shotz. Thanks to Connor Hunter and Nicky, I think, for tending bar.
There was a total of £270 in total raised for the Charity donation.
Many thanks once again to all who attended in memory of Mike, and to Ruth, Lindsay and Fraser, along with other family members, for attending.

Mike's son is doing a charity golf challenge, and after speaking to Clive, we have decided entrants can pay what they like (minimum £1) and the excess money will go to the heart charity Lindsay is raising for.

Hopefully a good turnout for the first official running of this, brand new trophy for the winners. I'll be there from 7pm to take entries

Peem Pearson Qualifiers
Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Peem Pearson Triples last night. Another decent turn out. Well done to the Westport Bar 1 and Westport Bar 2 on qualifying for the final.

Next Monday 12th May sees the 180 competition taking place at Shotz. Registration from 7 :30pm but I will be there from 7pm if anyone comes in earlier.
