Keratin removal from one ear this morning via microsuction.

Keratin (skin) should naturally migrate out of your ears but often due to factors such as age, narrow canals or skin conditions such as psoriasis ect can stop this from happening. This results in the ear blocking the same as it would with wax and can often cause an itching sensation inside the ear.

First time client for wax removal today from one ear.

An impressive amount of wax and keratin (skin) was removed from this clients ear and his hearing will improve significantly from this.

Microsuction removal for wax and keratin (skin) plug yesterday for a client, who has not had wax removal done in 5 years.

Both of the clients ears were fully occluded and his hearing was reduced considerably due to this.

Upon removal the client felt immediate reliefe and advised that everything appears very loud now.

Happy Monday everyone 👂🦻

Large wax plug removed via microsuction this morning for a first time client who had never had wax removal before.

Client had been using olive oil for a few days however plug was still very hard and required instrumentation to remove after microsuction.

3-5 days of olive oil is recommended prior to removal this ensures that any wax or keratin( skin) build up present is soft enough for removal at time of appointment. I recommend any medical grade olive oil spray such as Earrol or boots own spray is also fantastic . Using a spray rather than drops or a pipette ensures that the oil is dispersed around the ear reaching all areas of the canal for a comfortable removal.

First time removal for a client yesterday, this large hard plug of wax was deep within the ear and was reducing the clients hearing.

Post removal client felt an instant difference and hearing returned 👂🙌

Lovely review from an evening client who attended clinic last week after feeling a blockage in one ear resulting in reduced hearing .

This client has never had wax removed before and the the large wax blockage present was very hard and dense making it difficult to remove.

Client used medical grade olive oil for 3 days before returning and removal was completed within a minute.

Clients hearing has now returned and will continue with yearly ear check ups to reduce the risk of a blockage and/or loss of hearing in the future.

Pictures below of a client who attended clinic last week with a hematoma in one ear .

A hematoma is a collection of blood which has gathered under the surface of the skin, this was caused by forceful use of a cotton bud to relieve pressure from wax build up.

Also observed in the canal is redness and swelling as seen mainly in the last picture.

Cotton buds should be avoided as much as possible as if there is a build up of wax present in your ears and cotton buds are used it can push the wax further into the canal causing issues such as pain and discomfort and/or hearing loss. It can also cause trauma to the ear canals as pictured below .

If you feel that there is wax present in your ears try using a medical grade olive oil spray for 3-5 days prior to attending for professional removal. This will ensure that the wax is soft enough to be removed at time of appointment and will reduce the risk of any trauma that may be caused when attempting to remove the wax independently.

Large removal this morning via home visit for a very groovy 90 year old.

A mixture of microsuction and irrigation was utilised along with instrumentation due to the texture of wax which was very sticky and held in place with a keratin (skin) layer.

Clients hearing returned post removal and she is now able to utilise her hearing aids effectively🦻
