Hi Everyone, This is me - Claire (mum, step-mum, nanny, aunt, niece, cousin, daughter, step sister, partner, friend & Psychotherapist.)
All of these roles are equally important to me, but within my role as a therapist I get to support all of you, which in itself is very rewarding and empowering.
I became a therapist after experiencing significant physical, and verbal abuse for many years.
Then sadly trauma hit my family in ways unimaginable and I thought my world had come to an end…
All I needed and wanted was support and someone who understood what I was experiencing and could help and guide me with finding ways how to cope. Going back to University to train as a Psychotherapist helped me become resilient and changed me as a person to become more self-aware.
Mental health is not always cut & dry, we all have had some sort of past trauma in our lives or been affected by mental health challenges in one way or another.
But why struggle?
Life is so short, I realised this when I nearly lost my son after his transplant. Therapy is for anyone who wants to find themselves again and change things in their lives for the better. Invest in yourself and your abilities.
