The Story So Far
Twenty years ago I started practicing Auricular Acupuncture, thousands of ears later I now have my own business delivering traditional Chinese & Japanese techniques. Acupuncture is based around the theories of Qi (pronounced Chee). Qi runs through every living thing, providing balance to nature. It is believed that blockages of Qi cause illness and pain. On the theories of acupuncture, if Qi is unblocked and running freely the body run-in harmony hence Yin & Yang. The body is a great self healer, if you scratch your skin it heals. By inserting fine needles into specific part of your ear/face etc, the link to vital organs/muscle skeletal/ lymphatic system helps unblock Qi, thus helps the body self heal. It is also very relaxing and reduces stress/anxiety. Basically it can help support any illness both physically and psychologically.
Facial Acupuncture for cosmetic enhancement: By placing fine needles in certain parts of the face can reduce lines, tone muscles, tighten the skin. Remember the skin is an organ so it gets a work out, leaving the skin more radiant, complexion improves. As well as feeling better you also experience a very relaxed state.
Cupping Therapy for general wellbeing and pain management. The technique I use is dry cupping only. This therapy is very good at reducing pain issues, promotes a faster recovery. The marks left on the skin are not bruises but stagnated blood & waste products which are deep in the tissues, these are pulled up to the surface and taken away by the bodies own lymphatic system. This techniques is called negative pressure (the opposite to a deep sports massage). The marks fade after a few days. This therapy is popular with celebs and sports professionals.
Korean Hand Therapy: The South Korean”s relate the hands as a “second brain”. By placing either a combination of needles/studs and or heat through moxibustion with the same principles as acupuncture & acupressure. By using these micro systems aid recovery & pain relief. This technique can be used for practically any problem both physical & psychological. May be used in conjunction with other techniques or stand alone.
