What are Chakras?

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centres within our bodies, connecting our physical, mental, and emotional selves.  These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs in the physical body.

Your chakras need to stay open and balanced in order to function properly. A bloackge in the chakra may cause physical or emotional symptoms related to that particular chakra.

There are seven main chakras that run along your spine starting at the root, or base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head. When chakras are open, energy can run through them freely, and harmony exists between the physical body, mind, and spirit.
